. 0113. KING. ELECTRIC APPLIANCE FOR-HORSES. v No. 516,740. C Patented Mar. 20, 1894'.
UNrrnn STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE R. KING, OF DA LLA S,TEXAS.
ELEOTRIC APPL'IANCE FOR- HORSES.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Letters Patent NO. 516,740, dated March 20,1894.
Application filed March 18, 1893- $erial No. 466,659. (No model.) I
To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that I, GEORGE R. KING, residing at Dallas, in the county of Dallas and State of Texas, have invented a new and Im- 5 proved Electrical Appliance, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an electric appli ance, adapted for use on stallions, to stop and cure the habit of masturbatiomand such in- [O vention consists. in the peculiar and novel combination of parts, hereinafter fully described in the specification, and particularly pointed out in the claims, reference being had to accompanying drawings in whichr 5 Figure 1 is a perspective view of the appliance. Fig.2 is a similar view thereof with the upper plate detached, to illustrate the electrio generating'devices, and Fig. 3 is a view illustrating the appliance as applied to the animal.
Referring-to the accompanying drawings, A
indicates a suitably constructed box or receptacle, preferably. of the shape shown, the side and end walls a a'of whichare formed of' 2 5 hard rubber or some other non-conducting material.
B indicates the bottom plate of brass or other metal, which projects'beyond the end walls a, as at b b, and provided with slots 12 b as shown.
0 indicates the electric generating devices which are held in the box A, and which may be of any well known construction, one terminal of which contacts with the lower plate B, while the other contacts with the top or cover plate D. This plate consists of a leather strap having a sheet brass or other metal cover at, and such plate has a contact portion E of an absorbent material which is adapted to fit under the belly of the animal when applied for use.
F indicates a strap which is secured at its ends f, to the extensions 01* 02* of the cover plate, passes down through the slots b in the. ends b of the bottom plate, and passes under but out of contact with the bottom plate B. Upon the under face of this strap F, is secured a metal plate G, centrally of which is a button 9, which projects up through the strap F as shown. The box or shield is adjustably secured upon the stallion in the manner most clearly shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings, by reference to which it will be observed that it is held transversely under the belly and supported on straps J, K, and L, secured to rings I on the ends of the upper plate D. Thefront ends j and k of the straps J and K are adjustably secured to a breast strap M while the upper ends of the straps L are buckled toacrupper strap N.
When the parts are adjusted to the animal as shown, the lower plate and button 9 are held from contact with the lower plate B. When applied to the animal in the manner stated, should the stallion have amorous 'desires and get anerection, the penis will come in contact with the lower plate G, push it upward, and thereby cause its button g to contactwith the plate B, which movem'entin turn closes the circuit, which'produces an electrical shock, and causes a reaction, which has the desiredpffect or result.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isi '7 5 1. An electric appliance for the purposedescribed, comprising a box or support, a bottom and top plate-insulated from such support, the electric generating devices electrically connected with such top and bottom plates, and a yielding contact plate held under the bottom plate adapted to be moved into contact with the bottom plate, all substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. In an appliance for the purposes stated, the combination of the box A having insulated sides and ends, the metal bottom B, the
top plate'Dhaving extensions d the electric tially as and for the purpose described.
3. In an apparatus for the purpose described, the combination with the bar A, having insulated sides and ends, and the electric, generating devices held therein, and connect- 'Ioc ed with the top and bottom plates, said top plate projected and provided with securing rings at its ends, of the strap F secured to the plate D and projected under the plate B, such strap having a contact plate G on its under face formed with a contact g adapted to be moved into engagement with the bottom plate B, and the securing straps whereby the appliance can be adjustably held on the animal, all substantially as and for the purposes set 10 forth.
GEORGE E. KING.
