EMBROIDERY-HOOPHOLDER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 512,909, dated January 16, 1894.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, FREDERICK SoHULE- MANN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Embroidery-Hoop Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to an adjustable embroidery-hoop holder in the form of a clamp designed to be secured to a table by means of a clamping screw,.whereby, owing to the adjustment of the hoop, the work of embroidering is greatly facilitated, and consists in the special construction of the entire holder, and of the combination therewith of cushions, all as hereinafter described and claimed.

in which similar letters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a side elevation of my new and improved embroidery hoop-holder. Fig. 2 is a detailed sectional view showing the upper or hoop holding section having the inner hoop permanently secured thereto, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged view of the removable pin cushion.

A represents the main or table-clamp portion, and B the top hoop holding section, which is adapted to receive and firmly hold the embroidery hoop C.

The clamp portion A is composed of the bar a and the upper and lower horizontal clamp arms or jaws c c spaced to fit upon the edge of a table or suitable object to which it may be secured by the screw D fitted in said arm 0 as shown clearly in Fig. 1. The bar a extends above the upper clamp-arm c as shown at a, and this upwardly extending portion is bifurcated to form two clamps or check pieces of which are rounded at the ends as shown at a and to the said check pieces a is secured, by the screw (2, the link or intermediate section E by a tenon e at its lower end which fits between the said cheek pieces. The upper end of the said upper ring-holding section B is divided as shown at g to form the clamps g g and the upper ends of these clamps are recessed to receive the embroidery rings 0, and said clamps are provided with a screw h and thumb nut h by which the clamps may be closed upon the rings for securely holding the same in position. In Fig. 2 the inner embroidery ring is permanently secured to the section B by a screw 1'.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

As a new and improved article of manufacture the embroidery hoop holder herein shown and described, the same consisting of a clamp formed with a divided and rounded vertical extension at provided with a screw d, an intermediate section E formed at each end with a rounded tenon at right angles to one another, and the upper ring holding section B formed at its lower end with rounded cheek pieces b b and secured to the upper tenon of the intermediate section by screw f and divided at its upper end to form clamp jaws g .g fitted with a clamp screw it for clamping the ring substantially as described.
