SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 508,769, dated November 14, 1893.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, WILHELM SCHWEITZER, civil engineer, a citizen of the German Empire, residing at Freiburg, Baden, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Newspaper-Holders, of which the following is a specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved newspaper holder on which a number of newspapers, magazines and the like can be held conveniently, and on which and rapidly, and without disturbing the reholder.

The invention consists in the combination with a longitudinally grooved stick, of a ferrule at the lower end of the same, anotched turning cap on the upper end of the stick and a series of flat rods fitting in the grooves .in the stick.

The invention also consists in the construction and combination of parts and details which will be fully described hereinafter and finally pointed out in the claim.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l-is a side-view of my improved newspaper holder, parts being broken out. Fig. 2 is a longitudie nal sectional view of the same, parts being broken out. Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view of the same. Fig. 4 is a front and side View and section of a retaining rod, and Fig. 5 is a front and side view of the key.
