HARMONICA.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 504,899, dated September 12, 1893.
Application filed June 12,1893.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, MAX Arms, of New York city, New York, have invented an Improved Harmonica, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a harmonica provided with a spring cover which may be projected over the month piece to protect the wind openings, or over the back so as to be out of the way while the instrument is being played.
In the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective of my improved harmonica, with the cover partly broken away. Fig. 2 is a cross section of the same.
The letter a, represents the body of a harmonica of suitable construction and provided with the usual mouth piece a. Over this mouth piece there is fitted a cover I), which is preferably flanged as shown. The mouth piece is secured to the harmonica at each end by means of a spring 0, connected at the top to the cover and at the bottom to a screw Serial No. 477,268. (No model.)

When the instrument is not used, the cover is projected over the mouth piece a, and will be firmly held over the wind openings by means of the springs a, so as to exclude dust and moisture. What I claim is- The combination of a harmonica with a revoluble lid, adapted to be projected over its mouth piece and back and with springs that secure the lid to the ends of the harmonica, substantially as specified.
