Be it known Ythat I, BENJAMIN F. BEE, a citizen of the United States, residing atllarwich, in the county of Barnstable and State of Mas-` sachusetts, have invented a new and useful Centrifugal Pump, of which the following is a specification. l This invention relates to centrifugal pumps; and it has for its objects to provide a pump of cheap and simple construction and adapted to have increased power for elevating o r discharging received water', and which by itsy special construction prevents the formation generally occur in devices of this character, thus adding greatly to the edicieucy of the apparatus. i i

It desired, three blades may be employed; but I prefer two, as by experience I have -found a much better result is obtained. The water is drawn from the source of supply through. the inlet into the receiving-box y10 and is delivered therefrom through the openrng inthe bottom of the casing to the revolvingdisk and bladesor iioats, which in theirrotary motioncatch the water and throw the same against the vertical deflecting-plates, which receive the same and direct it around the scroll-casing and give it impulse in its proper course toward the delivery-spout 4, previously referred to.
The deilecting-plates additionally serve to sequent impediment to the free expulsion of the water by the wheel.

Having described my invention, what I claim is- 1. In a centrifugal pu1np .thc combination,
`with the case having the vertical inlet-opening eccentrically related with the wall of the case, of the shaft passing through the case and opening, a disk on the shaft, and blades depending from the 'disk over the opening and having laterally-bent flanges at their lower4 tical inlet-opening eccentrically related with the Wall of the case, of the shaft passing through the case and opening, a dat disk on the shaft above said opening, and straight blades'depending from the disk .over the opening and'havng laterally-bent-tlanges'at their lower edges, said flanges overlapping and ex-` tending beyond the edge of the opening and traveling horizontally thereover and having those portions above the openin g downwardly inclined or bont, substantially as specified.
In a centrifugal pump, the combination, with the casing comprising the base, having the circular inlet-opening, and the'spiral vertical wall eccentrically disposed with relation' to the opening and terminating at one side in a dischargespout, and a cover for the case, having an opening, of vertical curved deflecting-plates secured to the base within the casing near to and concentric with the edges lof the opening, a shaft passing through the case and opening, and a .disk mounted onthe shaft and provided with depending blades traveling within said plate and over the edges of said inlet-opening, substantially as Specified.
4. In a pump of the class described, the combination,with the casing comprising the base having the inletopening`, the vertical spiral wall located adjacent to and eccentric with relation to the opening and having the discharge, the cover having the eountersunk recess abovethe opening and provided with an opening, the receiving-box having the inlet y. located below the opening in the base, and the series of vertical transversely-curved deect- 6o ing-plates mounted on the base adjacent to `and concentric with the opening and within the casing, of the opposite standards extending from the base,'the transverse connectingbar having a bearing vertically opposite the openings in the base and cover, anda bearing formed in the bottom of the dischargebox, the vertical shaft mounted in the bearings, the pulley on the shaft above the case, the disk upon the. shaft within the base, and the depending L-shaped blades secured to the disk and having their hosizontal wing portions-traveling over andoverlapping the edge .of the opening in the base andl having the said horizontal portions thereof immediately above the opening downwardly bent, substantially as specified.
