Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 47,6 5.3,datcd May 9, 1865,

To all whom it may concern: V

Be it known that I, B. MARSTELLER, of Wolf Creek, in the county of Mercer and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Liniment; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to fully understand and make use of the same. This invention relates to a composition which has a superior healing effect on, wounds or bruises caused with sharp instruments, or by blows or other means. y

It is composed of alcohol, tincture of wild indigo, tincture of American ipecacuanha, or

Indianphysic, tincture of the inner bark of white elder, tincture of opium, oil of sassafras, oil of hemlock, oil of red cedar, spirits of turpentine, capsicum, gum-oamphor and these ingredients are mixed together in about the following proportions: alcohol, (ninety-eight per cent.,) one quart; tincture of wild indigo, one ounce; tincture ofAmerican ipecacuanha, or Indian physio, one ounce; tincture of inner bark of white elder, one ounce, tincture of opium, one-half ounce;oil of sassafras, one ounce; oil of hemlock, one-half ounce; oil of red cedar, One-half ounce; spirits of turpentine, one-hal PATENT 2 OFFICE;

In fact, my liniment, when kept constantly on hand in every family, will savemuch pain and uneasiness.
