Be it known that I, ROBERT P. FULLER, ot"
Machias, inthe county of Washington and State of Maine, have invented a new and nseful Improvement in Ships Blocks; and l do hereby declarethat the 'following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make 'and use the saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in whlch- Figure 1 isa-side View of @block constructed 'metallicstrap which encompasses the hl0ck,the
strap being fitted in `grooves in the cheeks, so that the outer surfaces of the forlner will be `ii cs hv with the outer surfaces of the latter, and
all arranged as hereinafter set forth.

The several lparts of the block areput -together by first inserting the --cheeks A A in the strap B, and then placi11g;and securing,
'the strips Uf() between the ends of the cheeks` By this vmode-of construction a very strong and durable block is obtained, the cheeks bein g'p'i evented from splitting on account of the same having a transverse .positionrrelatively with the side pieces, a a, of the'strap, and all I the parts -bound firtnly together.
