SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 467,963, dated February 2, A18922. Applicatlonled April 7, 1391- Serial No. 387,932. (No modelf) To @ZZ whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, JULIUS J. VERNIER, a citizen of theUnited States, residing at 'loledo, in'the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Menstrual Receptacle, ot` which the following is a speciticatiou.
This'invention is an improvement in menstrual receptacles, and has for its objects to produce a menstrual receptacle which will be adjustable vto vaginas of different lengths, to produce a receptacle tl'xemwearingv of which will occasion little or no inconvenience, and, furthermcrato produce a menstrual receptacle which will be practical, eleanly,.inexpen sive, and efficacious.
lVith these objects in view the invention resides in the various novel details of construction and `in the combination of parts hereinafter fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claim. i
In the drawings, in which l have illustrated my invention, and in which like letters of rel"- erence' indicate corresponding parts, Figure l is a perspective view ot the device. Fig. 2 is a central vertical section of it.
In the drawings, the letter' A designates my device, which consists oli' the receptacle proper A and the tube portion A2. The receptacle proper A consists of a lierible and elastic sack n, which has upon its open end the elastic rim Ct. This receptacle l'nay be made of rubber, cloth rendered impervious to liquids, or any suitable textile fabric. The tube portion A2 consists ot' a cup a2, a tube c3, extending from the bottom ot said cup, a tube c", adapted to tit and incluse the tube ci, and an enlargement upon the lower end of the tube at. This enlargement (indicated bythe letter c5) has 'upon its periphery an annular groove c, in which the elastic .rim c' of the receptacle proper A thereby to support the said receptacle.

As the parts are dexible, they will accommodate themselves to the movements of the wearer and cause no pain, irritation, or inconvenience. The telescoping tubes as cl may be provided with stops or similar devices to prevent them from separating, if it should be thought necessary.
In use the tube portion A2 is inserted within the vagina, as above described, and the receptacle A attached thereto by springing the rim a' into the annular groove a, Vhen the receptacle isfull, it may be detached from the tube portion and emptied.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
tending tube terminating at its lower end in an enlarged annulaihead or flange provided on its periphery with a surrounding annular groove, a supplemental its upper end in a womb-receiving cup and within said up wardlyextending tube to allow for the various depths of vagina, and an elastic sack or bag provided around its upper edge with a stilened elastic rim that is adapted to detachably engage said annular groove in said head or flange, which flange or head is further designed to t and rest close up against the labia, substantially as specified.
