The nature of this improvement will be fully understood by reference to the specification and drawing, which is a side View showing in section all the parts in detail.

ais the'stock; b, the handle; c, the'barrel for holding fire-crackers. d is a case for holding a spring. a is the trigger-guard, all of which are or maybe formed in one piece-from any suitable material or metal.

f is what represents a hammer and trigger combined, which is secured by a pin, a, near the lower end of the trigger-guard c, and s held forward against the pin g by the spring 71.

i is a throw-arm, one end of which is socured and works freely on a fulcrum-pin, va, nearly in the center of the case d, the object of which is to produce a more forcible discharge of the ball or torpedo from the socket m, secured thereon, and to do so at a fixed point the outer end of this arm or the body of the socket in secured thereon is designed to strike onto-the front end of the stock at .r as a fixed point of its discharge.

k is a coiled spring, one end of which (the inner end), is also secured to said fulcrum-pin 8 independent of the arm t, and the other end of said spring takes its bearing against a pin or projection, afmade or formed on said arm.

at is a socket secured onto the outer endof the throw-arm i, and is so arranged that when drawn back, as shown at o, it will strike upon and-force back the upper end of the trigger, and at thesame time it (the trigger) will spring forward and hold the socket in a proper position to receive a ball or torpedo. N ow, by placing a ball or torpedo in the socket (while held in this position)and pulling the trigger in the usual way, it (the ball or torpedo) will be thrown forward therefrom nearly in a line or range with the barrel or stock.

The barrel 0 is designed for holding and safely exploding firecrackers.

I have thus endeavored to show the nature, construction, and operation of this improvement, so as to enable a peison skilled to make and use the same therefrom.

What I claim, therefore, and desire to secure by Letters Patent as a new improved article of manufacture or toy gun, is-

1. The employment of a spring triggercatch, f, secured at 1:, arranged (between shoulder or pins r 9) so as to have but a limited vibration, substantially as and for the purpose as shown and described.

2. The arm 1' upon afulcrum-pin, s, in combination with a detached spring, 7:, vibrating between the fixed points and at, substantially as and for the purpose as shown and described. 3. The combination or arrangement of the stock a, handle b, barrel 0, case (I, guard a,

trigger and spring f h, arm and spring 1' k,

substantially as and for the purpose described.
