UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK T. CLADEK, OF RAHWAY, NEW JERSEY.
BUCK FOR BEER-COOLER'S.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No.435,28 2, dated August 26, 1890.
Application filed October 8, 1889. Serial No. 326,317- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK T. CLADEK, of Rahway, in the county of Union and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and Improved Buck for Beer-Coolers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming apart of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the figures.
Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of a beercooler or refrigerator, showing in full lines the buck supporting a barrel in the cooler, and showing in dotted lines the buck and barrel outside the cooler, and Fig. 2 is a detail view of the buck.
The invention will first be described in con.- nection with the drawings, and then pointed out in the claim.
The cooler or refrigerator A may be of any approved construction, with the support B for the buck on which the barrel rests. The buck comprises a platform 0 and hangers D D, pivoted at their upper ends to the crosspiece A of the cooler. The lower ends of the hangers are united by the rod D, which supports the rear end of the platform, and on which the platform slides longitudinally a limited distance, the slots at being formed for that purpose. with a tube (1 to reduce friction.
The said rod D is provided The platform, which is the main part of the buck, is composed of the side pieces 0 a, united by the bolts 0 0. These are shod with runner-plates c to slide on the door-sill of the cooler. Across the top, near the front end of the platform, is secured the plate 0 formed in the center with the projection c under which the chine of the barrel fits or catches, as shown in Fig. 1. The object of the slots dis to adapt the buck to lower the empty barrel to the floor, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, which facilitates the removal of the empty barrel and reduces the labor of placing a full barrel in the buck, as the barrel does not have to be lifted bodily, as with other bucks.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Let- 50 I ters Patent, is V a A beer-buck comprising pivoted hangers and a platform formed with slots, in which the connection or attachment of the platform to the hangers is placed, whereby the platform is adapted to have a swinging movement with the hangers, and also a longitudinal movement independent of the hangers, substantially as described.
