Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 42,086, dated March 29, 1864.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, WILLIAM HENRY, ot Wyoming, in the county otLuzerne and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Gang or Double-Share Plow; and I do I nerthat they-will becapable ot' beingadjusted at a greater or less distance apart and in line with each other transversely with the plowbeam, or with one share or plow more or less in advance of the other, whereby the device or implement maybe adapted to the-work designed for it with the greatest facility.

To'enable. those skilled inthe art to fully understand and construct myinvention, I will proceed to. describe it.

A represents the beam of the plow, and B B the handles. These parts maybe constructed in theusual way, and therefore do not require a minute description.

F F are twoplows, each of which has a vertical rod, 0, attached to it at the upper and front part of its mold-board. These rods 0 pass through holes in the bar 0, and they have screws cut on their upper ends, on which nuts 01 are fitted, and byscrewing up which the plows are secured :tothe bar 0. H, theupper ends of which have each a vertical rod, f, attached, said rods passing up through a bar, I, one near each end ofit, and also passing through the back ends of bars J J, the frontends of which are fitted on the rods f have screw-threads cut on them to receive nuts 9, which nuts, as well as those d of th rods 0, bear upon the bars J The yokes or frames H are provided with arms h h one at each side, and one of these arms, h, is bent or curved downward'at its surface of the right-hand side of each plow, and the other arms, it, pass through slots j in the left-hand side of the plow. 'By this arrangement the back parts of the plows maybe more orless elevated to cause furrows of greater or less depth to be made, as desired, washers being placedon t-he rodsf underneath the bar I, for the purpose ot'tilting or inclining the t front ends of the plows downward, the arms h h, in consequence of fitting in the sockets i and slotsj, admitting of this inclining of the plows. By this aruangement it will be seen that by adjusting the bar 0 the two plows F F may be placed in line with each other in a transverse direction of the beam A, or be placed one in advance of the other, as the nature of the work may rebar 0 in the desired position, the plows F F timrirng'otrmarallelwith the beam A by screwing up the nuts (1 g on the rods 0 f.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as'new, and desire to secure by-Letters Patent, is-
