BUTTON CASE AND EXHIBITOR.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 418,808, dated January 7, 1890.

Be it known that -I, J OHN HENRYMORS-E, a citizen of the United Stat-es, residing at Shady Grove, in the county of Grittenden and State of Kentucky, have invented a new and useful Button Case and Exhibitor, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has relation to a button case and exhibitor; and the objects and ad- 10' vantages of the same will hereinafter appear, and be particularly pointed out in the claims. 1

In practicing my invention I construct the case of any desired dimensions and construction, and do not limit my invention in this regard. In this instance the case consists of opposite side walls 1, a top 2, and a front wall,

in which is formed any desired number of drawer-receiving openings 4., provided with the usual slidesf. In these openings are mounted drawers 6, the front walls 7 of which are provided with a square shallow recess 8*, and over the front walls are mounted a front plate 8, having an opening 10-in this instance U shapedand extending from its upper edge inwardly, registering with the shallow recess, but being slightly smaller, so that in conjunction with the recess a pocket 9 is formed. The front plate of each drawer may be of sheet metal or veneer, as desired, and I provide each with an ordinary drawer-pull or knob 10. In this instance I provide three series of four drawers each, and below the same provide a larger drawer ll. Each of the drawers is intended to contain a dozen cards of buttons, and is of a size adapted for their reception.

A drawer the outer surface of the front panel of which is provided with a shallow recess open at one end and formed near the edge of the panel, and a plate mounted over the panel and having a recess smaller than and registering with the'recess in the panel and form-ing a pocket adapted to receive a card, substantially as specified.

2. A drawer the outer surface of the front panel of which is provided with a shallow recess and a superimposed plate having a smaller recessextending from its upper edge, registering with and overlapping the shallow recess of the panel and forming a pocket, and a card inserted in the pocket and bearing a sample of the contents of the drawer, substantially as specified.

3. A drawer the front panel of which is provided with a shallow recess having a central groove, a plate mounted over the panel and having an opening registering with and extending beyond the-edge of l the recess forming a pocket, and a card mounted in the pocket, and a button mounted on the card, the shank of the same extending through the card and into the groove, substantially as specified.
