Description
Unirse gratins iid-arent* @ri-nen.,
DAVID SVEETMAN, 0F HOHER, NEW YORK.
CQMBEN i.
AND PiNCimlEPtS.
Specification formingl part of Letters Patent No. -f @,Qll, dated October 13, RC3.
Be it known that I, DAVID Swnn'rinm, of Homer, in the county ot' Cortland and State ot New York, have invented certain new and Improved Shoemakers Pinchers and Nippers Combined; and l do hereby declare the tollowing to be a full and exact description ot' the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing', which t'ornis a part ot' this specication, and in which in v invention is represented blv a perspective view.
The object of the present invention is to sov combine those implements commonly known under the ai'ipellations ot' pinchers7 and nippers, respectively, that the distinct funetions of each, heretofore requiring separate instruments, may be performed by one, as will Del'.
C C represent pair of blades forming the nippers. These nipper blades must be ot'a suf-` tlcient size to insure durability and strength, and are designed to be castor molded with and upon the pinchers, near the rear extremity of the jaws d a, to avoid interfering with the efficient operation of the latter when used for drawing leather tightly upon or over the crimp or last, or for other purposes.
By preference, the nippers are located on the lett hand side ot' the instrument, so that the operation ot drawing tacks, nails, Svc., or cutting` wire may be more conveniently performed.
By this invention it will be apparent that a single instrument is provided, which is at once simple and well adapted to perform the functionsfor which two separate tools have hitherto been required.
Having` thus described my invention, WhatI claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of the handles A A, jaws u, u, hammer B, and nipper-blades G C, the whole being' arranged to operate substantially as and tor the purpose explained.
DAVID SWEETMAN.
