JOSEPH T.
ARNEY, OFSOUTl-I \VAREI-IAM, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-FOURTH TO EDGAR ROBINSON, F \VAREHAM, MASSACHUSETTS.
MOP AND SCRUBBlNG-BRUSH HOLDER.

mop and scrub- 11 after described and In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is 3 stisuted therefor.
a perspective view of my improved device, showing a mop and ascrubbing-lmish secured thereto, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the holder free of the mop and scrubbing-brush.
Massachusetts, have in vented a new 1 and it consists in certain My improved holder is a casting comprisl ing the plate A, having the parallel flanges B I; depending from its side edges and provided with internally-threaded horizontal openings, in which one or more clamping'screws, C, may
be mounted and adapted to bind against the sides of the brush to secure the same within 2 5 the holder. The plate A is further provided atits corners with vertical intern ally-threaded openings, in which are mounted vertical screws or bolts D, as shown, which pass through the ends of a clamping-bar, E, and
0 are adapted to secure the same firmly on the mop.
In practice the head between the flanges depending from the plate A, and the clamping-screws turned up against the sides of the same to secure it in g The mop is secured in position 1 having one end inserted between the plate the holder. by A and the horizontal clamping-bar, and the vertical screws or bolts are then turned downof the brush is placed ward to cause the said bar to bind upon the 40 mop, therein firmly securing it. The plate is provided on its upper side with an integral inclined socket, F, in which the end of the handle G is secured, as will be readily understood.
It will thus be seen that I have provided an extremely simple device, by means of which the mop and brush may be secured to a single device, to be used alternately, or either may be secured thereto without the other. In case of damage to either the mop or the brush, it can be easily removed and a new one sub- The device is very cheap and simple, and its efficiency is thought to be obvious.
llaving thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A combined mop and brush holder, comprising a plate having depending flanges at its edges, binding-screws mounted in said flanges to secure the brush, and a clampingbar mounted on the upper side of the plate to secure the mop, as set forth.
2. A combined mop and brush holder, comprising a plate having depending flanges at its edges, binding-screws mounted in said flanges to secure the brush, vertical screws on the upper side of the plate, and a clampinghar on the said screws to secure the mop, as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as myown I have hereto affixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
