CASE FOR EXHIBITING DECDRATIVE ART.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 392,038, dated October 30, 1888.

Application filed June 23, 1888.

The object of this invention is for the display of decorative art placed over graves, and protection of the same from the weather, so that wreaths, crosses, or emblems of any kind madein various designs ofporcelaimtin, cloth, &c., may be kept fresh and bright in their colors for an indefinite time; and our invention consists in providing a receptacle or. case for said decorative art having a removable glass cover titted to circular, tubular, and slotted channels, forming troughs or ducts, so as to carry off water and the condensation of same on under side of glass cover; further, in providing legs or stays to our receptacle or case, so that the same may be set on incline to better display the contents. We attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the acompanying drawings, of which- Figure l is atop view. Fig. 2 is a side view. Fig. 3 is a side view showing receptacle or case set on incline with legs or stays adjusted to display contents. Fig. 4 is a sectional View showing receptacle or case similarly set on incline, with legs or stays adjusted to display contents. Fig. 5 is an enlarged sectional view on line w 00, Fig. l. Fig. 6 is an enlarged sectional view on line y Fig. 1.

Our receptacle or case A, having bottom and sides, we makeof tin, and provide same with removable glass cover B, in order to display the decorative art placed therein; also, we make case A of any form, size, and depth to adapt the same to the particular form and size or emblem toloe displayed weather; further, we

In order to protect said decorative art from the Weather, and to keep the wreath, cross, or emblem displayed in same fresh and bright in its colors, we provide our receptacle or case A with circular tubular channels 0 0 0, having slots 0 c 0 provided throughout the length of said channels; also,with bearing-flange c, and fit and solder said circular tubular channels 0 GO and bearing-flange a about the open face of case A, (see Figs. 1, 4t, and 6,) mitering said circular tubular channels 0 0 O at upper corners, and extending the two side circular tubular channels,0 0, beyond the lower open face of case A, so as to properly discharge the water beyond the case said bearing-flange c and said slots 0 c c forming bearing for removable glass cover B, said removable glass cover B fitting in the slots 0 c c of circular tubular channels 0 G C, so as to overlap same on inside, and, further, overlap bearing-flange 0 thus, by means of our construction, adapting said bearing-flange c as a drip and said circular tubular channels 0 C O as troughs or ducts to carry off water, also condensation of same on under side of glass cover.
