UNITED STATES PATENTS 3 D F 1,132,244 3/1915 Degenhardt 273/157 R 3 C raw'ng gums MULTIPLE LOOP CONFIGURATION PUZZLE SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION The present invention provides a novel puzzle wherein a plurality of specially shaped members, when fitted together in the proper puzzle solving manner, form a continuous line, multiple loop configuration. The puzzle members comprise four J-shaped members, two reverse L-shaped members, and one straight member. These seven members, when properly arranged, form a continuous line configuration with eight small loops therein. Even when shown the puzzle in its completed arrangement forming the eight loops, it is a test of a persons skill to be able to reconstruct the puzzle when the pieces have been mixed up.
The puzzle may also be solved if the J-shaped members are flipped over to form a reverse J and the L- shaped members are flipped over to form a normal L configuration. It is not necessary to flip the straight member over since it maintains its desired configuration whether resting on one side or the other.
In one embodiment of the invention arrows are located on the members to indicate a path or direction for the continuous line configuration when assembled in the proper manner. These arrows may be formed as arrow-shaped cut-outs in the members.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a plan view of the puzzle with the seven members arranged to fonn the completed continuous line, eight small loop configuration.
FIG. 2 shows the four .l-shaped members, the two reverse L-shaped members, and the single straight member in a disassembled mode prior to formation of the desired configuration of FIG. 1, with the members shown as half the size of the members in FIG. 1.
FIG. 3 is a plan view of one particular embodiment of the present invention in which longitudinally directed holes have been formed in the members with arrowheads indicating the proper direction of flow for the continuous line configuration and with the members flipped over from the positions shown for the members in FIG. 1.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS. 1 and 2, the completed configuration for the puzzle is shown wherein the upper and lower ends of the puzzle are formed by the four J- shaped members of the puzzle 11, 12, 13 and 14, and
with the two reverse L- shaped members 15 and 16 and the single straight member 17 occupying the midportion of the puzzle. These members may be made of any suitable material such as wood or plastic. In the completed puzzle configuration the separate pieces, along their lineal direction, form a continuous line configuration with eight small loops formed therein.
Referring to FIG. 2 there is shown the seven separate pieces making up the puzzle, i.e., four J-shaped members ll, 12, I3 and 14, two reverse L-shaped members 15 and I6 and one straight member 17.
Referring now to FIG. 3 there is shown the seven members of the puzzle arranged so as to form the continuous line, eight loop configuration of the completed puzzle. It will be noted that in this embodiment the J- shaped pieces ll, l2, l3 and 14' and the L- shaped pieces 15 and 16 have been flipped over relative to the position of the similar pieces in FIG. 1. Each of these members has a longitudinally directed hole therethrough with an arrowhead on one end thereof so that, with the members properly arranged, the arrows indicate the line of flow of the continuous line configuration of the properly assembled puzzle. It is apparent that, should the J-shaped pieces and the L-shaped pieces again be flipped over to form the configuration shown in FIG. 1, that the arrows indicating the direction of the continuous line would be pointing in the opposite direction to that shown in FIG. 3.

1. A puzzle comprising four J-shaped members, two reverse Lshaped members, and one straight member which, when properly arranged together, form a geometric figure with a continuous line, multiple loop configuration.
2. A puzzle as claimed in claim 1 wherein the J-shaped members are of equal size and the L-shaped members are of equal size.
3. A puzzle as claimed in claim 1 wherein the geometric figure has eight loops.
