1 Claim, 1 Drawing Figure 1 ANTI-SPLATTER DEVICE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is the object of the invention to provide a device that can be used in combination with grapefruits and tables so as to prevent a person who is eating the grapefruit from being splattered thereby.
To this end, a transparent cover is disposed above the grapefruit in a manner that provides room for the hands of the user to hold the grapefruit and to allow the user to remove sections therefrom. Means resting on the table keep the cover in proper position. The transparent cover allows the user to see the grapefruit and thereby eat it, but prevents the user from being splattered by jets of juice originating at the surface of the grapefruit.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the accompanying drawing, the invention is shown disposed above a grapefruit on a horizontal table.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to the accompanying drawing, a transa horizontally disposed ring 20, which bears three likevertical legs 30 disposed around the ring at regular intervals.
A grapefruit half 40, disposed below the shell, rests on a plate 50 supported by a horizontal table top 60, which also supports the legs.
Although the invention has been described with detailed reference to the drawings, the protection sought is to be limited only by the terms of the claims which follow.
I claim:
1. In combination with a horizontal surface a grapefruit disposed on the surface;
a transparent, inverted, hemispherical hollow shell;
a horizontal ring attached to the circular edge of the shell; and
three like straight elongated vertical legs disposed around the ring at regular intervals and extending downwardly therefrom; the legs supporting the shell above the surface, directly above the grapefruit in a manner that the hands of a user can have access to the grapefruit without getting caught in the cover.
Claims (1)
1. IN COMBINATION WITH A HORIZONTAL SURFACE A GRAPEFRUIT DISPOSED ON THE SURFACE; A TRANSPARENT, INVERTED, HEMISPHERICAL HOLLOW SHELL; A HORIZONTAL RING ATTACHED TO THE CIRCULAR EDGE OF THE SHELL; AND THREE LIKE STRAIGHT ELONGATED VERTICAL LEGS DISPOSED AROUND THE RING AT REGULAR INTERVALS AND EXTENDING DOWNWARDLY THEREFROM; THE LEGS SUPPORTING THE SHELL ABOVE THE SURFACE DIRECTLY ABOVE THE GRAPEFRUIT IN A MANNER THAT THE HANDS OF A USER CAN HAVE ACCESS TO THE GRAPEFRUIT WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT IN THE COVER.
