1 Claim, 1 Drawing Figure OFFICE FOLDER DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to office folders and especially to such folders which in an easy way can be transformed to hanging folders,
Doubled folders with an overlapping shortened frontsection are previously known in many different shapes and materials. Doubled hanging folders with mounting bars in special tracks are also generally known. A simple, cheap and practical combination-folder with the advantages of both said types of folders is however not available on the market, and the object of the present invention is therefore to create such a combinationfolder, that can be used as hanging folder as well as an ordinary transportable office folder. The special characteristics of the invention are stated in the following claims.
The invention will now be more closely described in connection with the enclosed drawing, which illustrates an embodiment according to the principle of the invention.
The illustrated folder has two covering side sections 1 and 2 of suitably adjusted size and interconnected by a foldable back or bottom section 3, the width of which can be selected arbitrarily as well as the number of fold markings.
A longitudinal track 4 is arranged at the free long side of one of said side sections, in which track a mounting bar 5 can be easily inserted. Of course, this bar must extend beyond the side section material and at both ends preferably be provided with notches 6 in order to facilitate the fixture of the folder in hanging position in an archive cup-board or drawer.
At the edge of the free long side is further arranged a longitudinal section 7 of arbitrary width and suitable material. This section may be divided in sub-sections 8 10, certain of which, e.g., 9 and 10, may be double and completely or partly transparent in order to create pockets for insertion of labels or similar markings. This section is further provided with the one member 11 of a lock or connection mechanism, the other member 12 of which is arranged on the outside of the other side section. This locking mechanism may be constituted of any suitable construction, e.g., press button, pasted tape, burdock lock.
The previously described folder combines the advantages of other types of marketed folders due to the fact that it can be kept sealed and locked hanging in a cupboard or drawer and at the same time rapidly be transformed to a conference folder by removing the mounting bar.
The invention is of course not restricted to the detailed example illustrated on the drawing. Dimensions, materials and lock and marking principles may of course be varied according to desires and needs. The detail construction of the back section may be varied and the inclusion of some type of fixture for papers within the folder is also considered.
We claim:
1. A folder for letters, documents, and the like, comprising, in combination:
a. a first section, a second section, and a bottom section, the latter being arranged interconnecting the first and second sections at one edge of each;
b. a longitudinal track arranged at another edge of the first section, which another edge is opposite the one edge connected to the bottom section and is parallel to the bottom section;
0. a mounting bar free-running insertable in the track;
d. a longitudinal overlapping section being arranged in connection with the another edge of the first section and provided with at least one pocket arranged for the insertion of marking labels, and with a first locking member at the inner surface of the overlapping section; and
e. a second locking member arranged on the outside of the second section for cooperating with the first locking member and creating a locked closing of the folder in hanging as well as lying position thereof.
Claims (1)
1. A folder for letters, documents, and the like, comprising, in combination: A. A FIRST SECTION, A SECOND SECTION, AND A BOTTOM SECTION, THE LATTER BEING ARRANGED INTERCONNECTING THE FIRST AND SECOND SECTIONS AT ONE EDGE OF EACH; B. A LONGITUDINAL TRACK ARRANGED AT ANOTHER EDGE OF THE FIRST SECTION, WHICH ANOTHER EDGE IS OPPOSITE THE ONE EDGE CONNECTED TO THE BOTTOM SECTION AND IS PARALLEL TO THE BOTTOM SECTION; C. A MOUNTING BAR FREE-RUNNING INSERTABLE IN THE TRACK; D. A LONGITUDINAL OVERLAPPING SECTION BEING ARRANGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ANOTHER EDGE OF THE FIRST SECTION AND PROVIDED WITH AT LEAST ONE POCKET ARRANGED FOR THE INSERTION OF MARKING LABELS, AND WITH A FIRST LOCKING MEMBER AT THE INNER SURFACE OF THE OVERLAPPING SECTION; AND E.
