To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, DANIEL QHARA, DAN- IEL W. ELDREDGE,3.l1dJOHN LOGAN, of Waltham, in the county of Middlesex and State of hlussuchusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Alloys, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention has for its object to provide an alloy or compound metal which shall he practically non-magnetic, inoxidiznble, and will have a suitable coefiicient of expansion to adopt it for use as the material for one of the parts of the rim of a compensationbalance for watches or chronomcters.
Our improved alloy consists of a compound of platinum, nickel, copper, and gold in about the following proportions: platinum, fifty (50) parts; nickel, twenty (20) parts; copper, from five (5) to forty (40) parts; gold, ten (10) parts.
\Ve do not limit ourselves to the exact pr0- portions of platinum, nickel, and gold above.
