sum a 95 3 ll l ll l l APPARATUS FOR DRAWING, SEPARATING AND WINDING FILAMENT This invention relates to apparatus for directly and continuously drawing spun synthetic multifilament, separating the multifilament into each monofilament and winding the monofilament to each bobbin.
In an apparatus of the kind mentioned above, when the winding operation is effected by a ring twister, it will be required for installing the ring twister along the lengthwise direction of the apparatus to provide a space more elongated than that occupied by the drawing apparatus. Such incongruity may be improved somewhat by an arrangement in which two winding spindles are provided, respectively, at right and left sides of an operative support as a unit and these units are disposed vertically in columns. In such a structure, to allow filaments to be wound on the right and left winding spindles to traverse to the same direction, pig tails for guiding the filament to one of the left and right spindles have to be provided at end portions where the bobbins are fitted to and removed from the spindle. Accordingly, the operations for fitting and removing the bobbins to and from the spindle and for unwinding the filament from the bobbins have been troublesome.
As an improvement, it will be proposed to provide the guides at opposite ends away from the bobbin removing ends and to traverse the guides in the opposite directions. However, such traverse mechanism will be complicated, thus leaving a problem to be solved.
Furthermore, it is desirable that the bobbins secured to the spindles are pressed to the operative support side from one end thereof to prevent the bobbins from removing from the spindles while in operation. Pressure means having ever employed comprises an operative rotor engaged with the one end of the bobbin and urged by a spring. against which the bobbin is fitted to and removed from the spindle. In an example, when a package of 1 Kg wind is rotated at a speed of 2,000 3,000 r.p.m, the pressure required to support the one end of the bobbin will be in the range of 6 8 Kg which will become larger as the rotary speed becomes faster.
On the other hand, the power with which an operator can fit or remove the bobbins without any trouble against the pressure will be in the rang e of l to 2 Kg which valuehas no relation with the rotary speed of the bobbin.
Such bobbin supportingmeans which simultaneously satisfies the above mentioned contradiction has never been provided.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus whose parts are associated with each other to smoothly effect drawing, separating, and winding operations of filaments.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus in which drawing means for undrawn multifilament and a take-up winder for each monofilament separated from the multifilament after drawing of the latter are installed with good balance.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a new improved bobbin supporting means which supports bobbins firmly during winding operation and allows the bobbins to be easily fitted thereon and removed therefrom as desired.
The aforementioned and other objects and features of the invention will be apparent from'the following detailed description of specific embodiments thereof,
when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: I
FIG. 1 is a partially exploded front view showing an apparatus according to the present invention,
FIG. 2 is a side view of the apparatus shown in FIG.
FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing bobbin end pressing means in which the bobbin end is being pressed with low pressure,
Referring now in FIGS. 1 and 2, a drawing apparatus 1 is installed upon a floor and a winder 20 is installed upon the drawing apparatus 1. Usually, a number of such apparatus are arranged along the lengthwise direction thereof in a mill, 'FIG. 1 partially showing adjacent apparatus. Also, these apparatus are arranged back to back as shown in FIG. 2 with their operating sides being right and left sides in the Figure.
The drawing apparatus 1 is provided with feed roller 6 and draw roller 8 which are independently driven by speed variable motors 16 and 18, respectively. In the apparatus, undrawn multifilament 4 consisting of eight monofilaments is taken out, without twisting, from a package 2 rotatably supported on a holder 3 and is subjected to drawing operation after passing through a guide 5 and being wound around the feed roller 6 with plural turns, a drawing pin 7 with one turn, and the draw roller 8 with plural turns. Thus drawn multifilament 4 is then separated into eight monofilaments through a dancing guide 9 which serves to detect the winding tension and separation guide I0. The separated monofilaments (ll-I through 11-8) are then led to the above located winder 20. In Figures, the suffix shows each monofilament separated.
The winder 20 is provided with a vertical frame comprising two opposite vertical legs 22 and 23 and a horizontal arm 21 connecting the upper ends of the legs. Eight bobbins 24-1 through 24-8 are supported between the vertical legs 22 and 23 with an arrangement that a pair of bobbins are vertically arrayed on four columns and horizontally in parallel from the front to the back.
The term from the front to the back used herein and in claims means the front side and the back side seen from one of operation sides along the breadthwise direction of the whole apparatus.
Drive-supporting means'for the bobbins comprises eight spindles 25-1 to 25-8 each being rotatably supported like cantilever through the left leg 22 of the frame in FIG. 1. These spindles 25 are connected with a speed variable motor 26 installed above the frame through known pulley-belt transfer means and are concurrently driven by the motor. Each bobbin 24 supported at its left end in FIG. 1 by the spindle 25 is pressed from the right end thereof toward the supporting shaft by pressing means 30 provided through the right leg 23 of the frame.
Each of the drawn monofilaments is concurrently traversed to the same directions by four traverse guides 27-1 to 27-4 and wound up to the bobbin.
The pressing means 30 has a driven rotor 33 rotatably supported about a shaft of a hollow member 32 which is slidably supported through a hole 31 in the right leg 23 in the frame. The driven rotor 33 has a frusto-conical shaped head partially entered into the hollow end of each bobbin. To strongly press the driven rotor 33 against the end of the bobbin through the hollow member, there is provided with a press board 38 at the right side (in FIG. 3) of the leg 23. The press board 38 is connected with a piston r'od .37 in a solenoid or fluid cylinder 36 fixed to the leg 23 of the frame and has an advanced position shown in PK]. 1 and a retracted position in FIG 3. Within a central bore 34 in the hollow member 32 between the press board 38 and the driven rotor 33 provided is a spring 35 which serves to press thedriven rotor 33 against the end of the bobbin with low pressure. Though omitted in Figures, a pipe for leading operative fluid to the fluid cylinder 36 and a valve to change the operative direction of the piston rod 37 are provided. lnthe advanced position of thepress board 38 shown in FIG. 1, high pressure is applied to the end of each of the four bobbins by the fluid cylinder 36 or the like in order that the bobbins may not be disengaged. On the other hand, in FIG. 3 low reduced pressure is applied to the bobbins by the spring 35 to allow the bobbins to be removed easily.
