Abstract

A sled like unit comprising: a generally elongated horizontal runner having an upwardly inclined rounded front end; a horizontally elongated support secured to the top surface of the runner and extending along the longitudinal center line, said support being spaced from both ends of the runner; a first generally vertical member secured at its bottom end to said support; a generally horizontal seat disposed at the top end of the member; and support means extending between said member and the support.

SUMMARY The unit comprises a generally elongated horizontal runner having an upwardly inclined rounded front end. A horizontally elongated support secured to the top surface of the runner and extending along the longitudinal center line, the support being spaced from both ends of the runner. A generally vertical member is secured at its bottom end to the support and has a generally horizontal seat secured to its top end. Support means extends between the vertical member and the support whereby a user can sit upon the seat and ride the unit.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS In the drawings:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An elongated generally horizontal elongated runner 10 has an inclined upwardly extending rounded front end 10A and a flat rear end 108.
An elongated support 12 is secured to the top surface of the runner l and extends along the longitudinal center line between the front and rear ends. An elongated generally vertical member 14 is pivotally secured at its bottom end to the support at a point intermediate its ends. A seat 16 is secured to the top end of member 14, being either rigidly or pivotally secured thereto.
Typically member 14 has a longitudinal slot 18 and has bifurcated bottom ends. A link 20 has its upper end disposed pivotably in the slot adjacent the seat and extends inclinedly downward and forward to make detachable contact with the front of the support. Manually operable clip 22 holds the lower end of the link 20 in place.
A second link 24 has its upper end pivotally disposed in slot 18 below link 20. The link 24 extends inclinedly downward and rearward to make detachable contact with the rear of the support. Manually operable clip 22 holds the lower end of link 24 in place.
By releasing the ends from the clips, the link and member can be folded onto the support and runner when not in use.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.
Having thus described this invention, what is asserted as new is:
l. A sled like unit comprising:
a generally horizontal elongated runner with an upwardly inclined rounded front end;
a horizontally elongated support secured to the top surface of the runner and extending along the longitudinal center line, said support being spaced from both ends of the runner;
a first generally vertical member secured at its bottom end to said support; said member having a longitudinal slot and bifurcated ends;
a generally horizontal seat disposed at the top end of the member; and
support means extending between said member and the support;
wherein the said bottom end is pivotally secured to the support;
wherein said means is a linkage which includes two inclined links one secured at its upper end to the member and extending downward and forward to the support, the other secured at its upper end to the member and extending downward and rearward to the support; and
wherein each link is pivotally secured at its upper end to the member, the upper end of the second link being disposed below the upper end of the first link, said support means including additional means for detachably securing the lower ends of both links to the support.

Claims (1)

1. A sled like unit comprising: A GENERALLY HORIZONTAL ELONGATED RUNNER WITH AN UPWARDLY INCLINED ROUNDED FRONT END; A HORIZONTALLY ELONGATED SUPPORT SECURED TO THE TOP SURFACE OF THE RUNNER AND EXTENDING ALONG THE LONGITUDINAL CENTER LINE, SAID SUPPORT BEING SPACED FROM BOTH ENDS OF THE RUNNER; A FIRST GENERALLY VERTICAL MEMBER SECURED AT ITS BOTTOM END TO SAID SUPPORT; SAID MEMBER HAVING A LONGITUDINAL SLOT AND BIFURCATED ENDS; A GENERALLY HORIZONTAL SEAT DISPOSED AT THE TOP END OF THE MEMBER; AND SUPPORT MEANS EXTENDING BETWEEN SAID MEMBER AND THE SUPPORT; WHEREIN THE SAID BOTTOM END IS PIVOTALLY SECURED TO THE SUPPORT; WHEREIN SAID MEANS IS A LINKAGE WHICH INCLUDES TWO INCLINED LINKS ONE SECURED AT ITS UPPER END TO THE MEMBER AND EXTENDING DOWNWARD AND FORWARD TO THE SUPPORT, THE OTHER SECURED AT ITS UPPER END TO THE MEMBER AND EXTENDING DOWNWARD AND REARWARD TO THE SUPPORT; AND WHEREIN EACH LINK IS PIVOTALLY SECURED AT ITS UPPER END TO THE MEMBER, THE UPPER END OF THE SECOND LINK BEING DISPOSED BELOW THE UPPER END OF THE FIRST LINK, SAID SUPPORT MEANS INCLUDING ADDITIONAL MEANS FOR DETACHABLY SECURING THE LOWER ENDS OF BOTH LINKS TO THE SUPPORT.
