7 Claims, 4 Drawing Figures FIG ,4.
1 CHILD'S CLOTHES BAG HOLDER This invention relates to a childs clothes bag holder for storing soiled and dirty clothes in the clothes bag.
A small child is often careless and sloppy about discarding his soiled and dirty clothes, and, in preparing for bed, oftentimes simply takes off his clothes and leaves these soiled and dirty clothes scattered about in his room, not bothering to take them and place them in the bathroom clothes hamper.
The object of this invention is to make it a game and fun for a child to pick up his discarded clothes and to put his soiled and dirty clothes in the clothes bag of the holder by attempting to toss them into the hoop of the holder to score a basket. This object is accomplished by mounting on a door of the child's bedroom a backboard which has' a hoop and clothes bag simulating a basketball backboard, hoop and net with the result that the child will be tempted and induced to pick up his soiled and dirty clothes to try to score points by tossing individual pieces of his discarded clothing into the hoop and clothes bag. Not only does the invention possess the attribute of fun and a game for the child, but also the childs using the invention for the described and intended purpose concomitantly inculcates neatness and order. The use of the invention by the child further provides the inclusive beneficial result in that his mother no longer has to go about her childs bedroom to pick up his discarded clothing. r
This object and other objects of the invention should be discerned and appreciated from the detailed specification taken in conjunction with the drawings, wherein like reference numerals refer to similar parts throughout the several views, in which:
FIG. 1 is a side elevational view of the invention;
FIG. 2 is a view taken in the direction of the arrow 2 in FIG. 1;
FIG. 3 is a view of a hook member mounting the backboard on a door; and
FIG. 4 is a view of the bail bracket.
In FIG. I of the drawings, reference numeral 1 generally refers to the invention of the childs clothes bag holder. Backboard 3, as showmslidably carries at its top lateral sides two removable hook members 5. Each hook member 5 has two keyhole slots 7 formed therethrough receiving therein aligned headed pins 9 suitably fixed to backboard 3, and a turned-down extremity ll. Hook members 5 with their turned-down extremities 11 thereby are adapted to fit over the top of a door, not shown, and against same to thereby mount the backboard 3 on the door.
The upper portions of keyhole slots 7 are slightly larger than the diameter head of pins 9 such that downward movement of hook members 5 relative to headed pins 9 followed by raised movement of hook members 5 relative to the pins 9 permits removal of hook members 5 from pins 9.
Suitably marked on backboard 3, as shown, is a target area 13 to provide the child a reference target in tossing his clothes into the hoop 17 and clothes bag 15.
Hoop 17 has an outer bumper sleeve 19 of rubber or other suitable material. Bumper sleeve 19 functions to protect a room wall when the holder 1 is mounted on the outside of a closet door, for example, and the door is opened towards the room wall. Strap bracket 21,
suitably fixed to backboard 3 by rivets or the like, pivotally mounts hoop 17, as shown.
Bail 23 pivotally mounted on hoop 17 is removably received, in interference fit relationship, by recess 25 formed by ears 27 upstanding from bail bracket 29. Bail bracket 29 is suitably fixed to backboard 3 by rivets or the like, as shown. Bail 23 received in bail bracket 29, as described, maintains and supports hoop 17 in its upright operative position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. Upon removal of bail 23 from bail bracket 29, hoop 17 may be disposed in collapsed, flat relationship with backboard 3 for inclusive purposes such as storage or shipment of the holder 1.
The clothes bag 15 is detachably mounted on hoop 17 by means of integral loops 31 trained around hoop l7 and secured therewith by engaged gripper snaps 33, as shown. Clothes bag 15 has a flap-covered zipper 35 at its bottom, as shown, to facilitate removal of clothes from clothes bag 15.
lndicia 37 attracts the attention of the child to utilize the clothes bag holder 1 as a receptacle into which to dispose his soiled and dirty clothes through hoop l7 and bag 15.
Having thusly described my invention, I claim:
1. A childs clothes bag holder for storing soiled and dirty clothes, said holder comprising a backboard, hook members, a strap bracket, a hoop, a bail, a bail bracket and a clothes bag, said backboard carrying said hook members, strap bracket and bail bracket, said hook members being adapted to fit over the top of a door and against same to removably mount said backboard on said door, said strap bracket pivotally mounting said hoop, said hoop pivotally mounting said bail, said bail bracket having ears forming a recess for interference fit in removably receiving said bail, and said clothes bag being detachably mounted on said hoop.
