Primary Examiner-Anton O. Oechsle Assistant Examiner-Arnold W. Kramer Attorney, Agent, or Firm--Lyon & Lyon ABSTRACT r A game resembling Soccer-Football in which the players move on stilts and such stilts are used to kick" a ball in the form of a modified cube having flattened corners and flattened edges.
1 Claim, 2 Drawing Figures GAME PLAYED ON STILTS WITH NONROUND BALL This is a continuation of application Ser. No. 888,584, filed Dec. 29, 1969, now abandoned.
The present invention relates to a game and resembles the game of soccer-football which in this instance is played on stilts using a novel ball.
An object of the present invention is to provide a new sport resembling soccer which may conveniently be played on a field smaller than a normal soccer field.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an improved'ball which is particularly useful in this particular game.
The features of the present invention which are believed to be novel are set forth with particularity in the appended claims. This invention itself, both as to its organization and manner of operation, together with further objects and advantages thereof, may be best understood by reference to the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a ball used in the present game.
FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating one of the players in relationship to the ball of FIG. 1.
The game involves the use of an equal number of players on each side. The equipment involves a field like a miniature soccer field having goals through which a ball is required topass for a score.
Each of the players in this instance is equipped with a pair of stilts 10, 11 upon which the players move and which are used for kicking the ball 12.
The ball 12 is of unique construction in that instead of being round is in the form of a modified cube having each of its eight corners 12A provided with flattened portions, such flattened portions 12A being interconnected by flattened portions 12B. Such flattened portions 12B are essentially chamfered edges.
One of the purposes of this ball construction is that it is restrained from rolling by virtue of its six flat faces 12C making contact with the ground. At the same time these flat faces 12C provide an apt target for a players stilt which he uses to kick the ball.
Because the ball is not round, it does not roll and its mobility is limited so that the-playing field may be relatively small and commensurate with the mobility of a person on stilts.
While the particular embodiments of the present invention have been shown and described, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that changes and modifications may be made without departing from the invention in its broader aspects and, therefore, the aim in the appended claims is to cover all such changes and modifications as fall within the true spirit and scope of this invention.
1 claim:
1. A modified soccer-football game involving two teams of players in which each of the players of each team contemporaneously have the opportunity to kick a ball, a pair of stilts on which each player moves and which is used for kicking a ball, and a ball adaptable to being kicked by. said stilts, said ball being nonround and being a modified cube having flattened comers and flattened edges, each of the six side faces of said cube presenting a generally square surface area which is larger than the projected area of the lowermost end portion of each of said stilts such that different ones of said faces may be contemporaneously engaged by different ones of said stilt end portions.
