At the ends of the leg portions of the game structure are openings for interchangeable game-scoring members having either circles imprinted thereon or openings therein for the ball or puck to come to rest upon while within. The ball of the game and also puck, if used, are propelled by a suitable instrument which upon impact will propel the ball towards a circle or an opening whichever the case.
2 Claims, 2 Drawing Figures PATENTEDMAR 1 I972- INVIIN'IUR. HfLEN STERLICCH/ & PASQUALE d.STERL/CCH/ SURFACE PROJECTILE GAME BOARD HAVING INTERCHANGEABLE SCORING BOARD MEMBERS This invention relates to games, and more particularly to a competitive game in which a ball or puck is used, to score the game.
lt is therefore the primary purpose of this invention to provide a game which will consist of a character having an extended leg configurated structure having wall means to confine the ball or puck, whichever is used.
Another object of this invention is to provide a game of the type described which will be novel while requiring a degree of skill to play it and will also provide a form of recreation.
A further object of this invention is to provide a game of which the leg portions of the structure will have circles or openings for scoring the game when the ball or puck comes to rest therein or thereupon.
A still further object of this invention is to provide a game which may be played on the floor by using vinyl or nylon carpet or the like, the structure also may be played on the top of a table. The game may also be played on a regular table that is about 6 to 12 inches high from the floor wherein the players will use a bat and a ball or a puck to play the game.
The game may also be suitably used at the height of a pool table and may be used in the same manner a shuffieboard game.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a game which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use, and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention showing an alternate insert having openings instead of circles, the lower rectangular member showing the preferred embodiment; and
FIG. 2 is a top plan view of a preferred embodiment showing an M-W form of F 1G. 1.
According to this invention, a game is shown to include a plurality of play-area legs l1, 12, 13, 14 with recessed portions l5, 16, 17, and 18 for the insertion of matching rectangular boards 19, 20, 21, and 22.
A puck 23 is propelled along legs 11, 12, 13, and 14 for the purpose of its coming to rest in either of the circles 24 in a manner indicated by arrows.
It shall be noted that a modified board 25 having openings 26, may be used in place of the boards 19, 20, 21, and 22. With this arrangement, a ball (not shown) may be used to play the game 10.
In order to propel the puck 23 or the ball (not shown) a suitable instrument (not shown) may be used to strike puck 23 or the ball.
Game 10 might be played by two or more players. The players each have the striking instrument (not shown) and a ball or puck 23 in order to play game 10. The first player starts game 10 from the starting area designated as A on the drawing. The player hits the ball or puck 23 to the area designated B. The puck 23 must slide into and come to rest in either circle 24 in order to score a point, and the puck 23 must slide in a consecutive manner from legs ll, l2, l3, and 14. The player then strikes the puck 23 from the area designated as B to the area designated as C, each stroke of the puck 23 being made to score again.
The player then hits the puck 23 from the area C to the area D and the player that scores the most points wins game 10.
Through a single form of this game has been shown as an M- W structure, other forms, having extended arms and pathways which function in the same manner, are intended to be comprehended within the spirit of this invention.
What we now claim is:
l. A game comprising: a character-shaped structure; recessed leg portions carried by said character-shaped structure for guiding a projectile; confining means carried by said structure for preventing displacement of the projectile therefrom, wherein said leg portionspf said structure include upwardly extending rail portions serving to confine the pro ectile which takes the form of a puck or ball used in playing the game; said leg portions each being provided with a recess at the extremities thereof; interchangeable board members for scoring points; said recesses adapted to receive said interchangeable board members, some of which have circles imprinted thereon, so that said puck or ball may be propelled to rest upon one of said circles which serve as a scoring means for said game; said board members being interchangeable, if desired, with similar board members having openings instead of circles to receive the ball or puck; and wherein said game is played by starting at one end of said leg portions of said structure and progressing in a chronological order to each adjacent leg thereof with the player propelling the puck or ball into a circle or opening in the total largest numbers being the winner.
2. A game as defined in claim 1 wherein the character is of the M-W form with the leg portions being the extended parts of said characters.

Claims (2)

1. A game comprising: a character-shaped structure; recessed leg portions carried by said character-shaped structure for guiding a projectile; confining means carried by said structure for preventing displacement of the projectile therefrom, wherein said leg portions of said structure include upwardly extending rail portions serving to confine the projectile which takes the form of a puck or ball used in playing the game; said leg portions each being provided with a recess at the extremities thereof; interchangeable board members for scoring points; said recesses adapted to receive said interchangeable board members, some of which have circles imprinted thereon, so that said puck or ball may be propelled to rest upon one of said circles which serve as a scoring means for said game; said board members being interchangeable, if desired, with similar board members having openings instead of circles to receive the ball or puck; and wherein said game is played by starting at one end of said leg portions of said structure and progressing in a chronological order to each adjacent leg thereof with the player propelling the puck or ball into a circle or opening in the total largest numbers being the winner.
2. A game as defined in claim 1 wherein the character is of the M-W form with the leg portions being the extended parts of said characters.
