BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a door having the security device mounted therein and in locked position.
FIG. 2 is a front elevational view of the pivotal mount.

FIG. 4 is a front elevational view of the locking ring employed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT In the drawing the numeral 1 designates a door facing surrounding the door 2, and which is usually mounted on the 2 X 4 framing of the building (not shown). Mounted on one side facing member is the pivotal mount support 3 in which the pin 4 is mounted and extends outwardly therefrom. The female member of the telescoping bars 5 is fixedly mounted on the pin 4 and the pin 4 pivots freely on the support 3. The male telescoping bar 6 has one end extended into the bar 5, and a port therein receives the pin 7, mounted through the port 8 in the female member 5. A bar receiving support 9 is mounted on the opposing face member, and the pivotal ring receiver 10 is mounted on said support 9. A port 11 through the male bar 6 receives the locking pin 12, which is anchored by the chain 13 to the support 9. A similar chain 15 anchors the pin 7 to the female bar 5.
A retainer support 15 mounted in vertical alignment and above the support 3, has the anchor chain 16, with a snap link 17 on the free end thereof, which wraps around the male bar 6, and snaps into locking position on the bracket 19 provided on the support 15.
The various supports are anchored to the facing and to the building frame by means of suitable bolts, such as the lag bolts 18, which are designed to penetrate deeply into the framework of the building. When the male member 6 is moved into the ring 10, and the pin 12 dropped into the port 11, and the pin 7 is dropped into the port 8, the device will effectively bar the door against intruders. When it is desired to free the door, the pins 7, 12 are removed, and the male member 6 moved into the female member 5, and the member 5 pivoted upwardly where the chain 16 will maintain the telescoping parts in vertical position until again released. While in this position, the snap ring 17 is engaged with the bracket 19 and the pin 7 is mounted in the ports 8 and 20 to lock the member in disengaged position.
What I claim is:
1. In a security device for use on a door and door facing, plates having means for mounting same on the door facing on each side of a door in horizontal alignment, a female and a male telescoping member, one end of the female member being pivotally mounted on one of said plates and a receiving member mounted on the opposing plate, said male member being movable into and out of locking relation in said receiving member, a retainer plate having a retainer thereon mounted on said door facing in vertical alignment with said pivotal support and above said support, a snap link secured by a chain anchored to said retainer plate, and a bracket on said retainer for receiving said snap link to be passed over to hold the upper end of said telescoping members when said device is moved out of locked position and into vertical position on said door facing.

Claims (1)

1. In a security device for use on a door and door facing, plates having means for mounting same on the door facing on each side of a door in horizontal alignment, a female and a male telescoping member, one end of the female member being pivotally mounted on one of said plates and a receiving member mounted on the opposing plate, said male member being movable into and out of locking relation in said receiving member, a retainer plate having a retainer thereon mounted on said door facing in vertical alignment with said pivotal support and above said support, a snap link secured by a chain anchored to said retainer plate, and a bracket on said retainer for receiving said snap link to be passed over to hold the upper end of said telescoping members when said device is moved out of locked position and into vertical position on said door facing.
