  • a thread-guide bar (1) having thread guides thereon, means for producing reciprocating movement of said thread-guide bar comprising follower means and a drum formed with a groove in its outer surface for driving the thread-guide bar, said follower means including at least two guide elements (2), a connecting rod (5), means mounting said guide elements in spaced apart relationship along said connecting rod (5), said guide elements being positioned in the groove (3) to follow the path of the walls thereof, means (6) pivotally connecting the guide bar with the connecting rod at a point mid-way between said guide element mounting means, means guiding the movement of the thread-guide bar in a reciprocating path upon rotation of the drum comprising a block (7) connected to the means (6) and guide means (9) cooperating with the block to guide same in a reciprocating path, stops (8a, 8b) provided at the ends of the excursion of the reciprocating path of the block, and deflection elements (7a, 7b) provided on the block to impinge on the stops partially to absorb 3.
