Abstract

A therapeutic device for maintaining the human penis in an erect condition by damming the blood from blowing back into the trunk, including a first band encircling the base of the penis and a second band connected to the first band, encircling the neck of the scrotum. Snap fasteners are provided to form the bands into loops and to afford adjustability.

THERAPEUTIC GENITAL DEVICE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a therapeutic device for assisting the penis in the performance of its natural function in human sexual intercourse.

The purposeof the present invention is to provide a device which will serve to maintain the penis in an erect condition by confining the blood in the penis by checking its flow with respect to the body trunk through application of tourniquet-like forces at the base of the penis and simultaneously to the neck of the scrotum. An advantage of the invention is that it permits the erection of the penis to be maintained for a substantial period of time for satisfactory human sexual intercourse.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION AND OBJECTS In summary, the invention pertains to a device for maintaining a penis in the erect condition and including first and second bands each formed of a pliable material, the first band is arranged to form a loop to encircle snugly the base of the'penis; the second hand is arranged to form a loop to extend around the neck of the scrotum and means are provided for detachably'connecting said second band to said first band.

An object of the invention is to provide a therapeutic device for maintaining the'human penisin the erect condition which is convenient and easy to put on and which is unobtrusive in use.

Another object of the invention is to provide a therapeutic device of the type described which is adjustable to accommodate anatomical differences in size and including provisions for achieving-comfort in wear.

Further objects and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawing, the therapeutic device in the present invention is shown in operative association with the human male genitalia including the penis 11 and the scrotum 12 which contains the testicles. The neck of the scrotum is indicated at 13 and, as will be seen in the drawing, the anatomical portions are indicated in broken lines, the structure of the invention in full lines.

The therapeutic device 10 comprises two interconnected loops which are formed by a first or penisencircling band 16 and a second or scrotum-encircling band 17. As shown in FIG. 3, the

16 and 17 as manufactured are flat, narrow strips, and in a preferred form the first band 16 may be on the order of one-half an inch wide and 6 b inches long. The second band 17 may also be on the order of one-half an inch in width and about 6 )4 inches long. The

16 and 17 may be formed from a variety of materials to which the human skin is not allergic, including synthetic materials and natural materials such as leather. In a preferred form, leather known in the trade as elk-tanned cowhide, was found satisfactory for its properties of pliability and naturalness of feeling against the skin.

Fasteners are provided to form the first band 16 into a loop as well as to form the second band 17 into a loop attached to a medial portion of the first or penis band 16. More particularly. the first band 16 is equipped with cooperable two-part fastener means 21 and 22 for connecting the ends of the band together. Preferably, the fasteners are of the snap fastener variety which include a cap portion 21 and head portion 22, as is well formed by the band 16 so as to accommodate male organs of varying sizes. In practice, after the user has selected a desired fitthr ough selection of one of the particular fasteners 21-22, the excess or end portion of the band 16 is cut off.

Second fastener means are provided on the second or scrotum-encircling band 17 and include the plurality of ment point on the first band 16 for an end of the second band 17, as may be seen from the. drawing.

The cap portions 23 may be spaced on a pitch of about one-half of an inchand provide adjustability for comfort and afford accommodation for anatomical differences in males. In use, after the desired fit is acquired with regard to the scrotum encircling strap 17 through selection of one of the particular fasteners of the groupat the end of the band 17, the excess or endportion of the band 16 is cut off.

The subject therapeutic device works on the principle of preventing or restraining the inflow and outflow of blood from the penis once the penis is in an erect condition. This is achieved by applying a tournequetlike clamping pressure, as snug as may be desired, at the base of the penis by the looped band 16 and around the neck of the scrotum by the looped band 17. The therapeutic device 10 is put on by first snapping one end of the scrotum strap 17 to an attachment point in the medial section of the first band 16, as shown in FIG. 3. Then the band 17 is passed behind and under the scrotum and the free end brought forward for attachment to the second of the attachment points on the first band 16 forming an encircling loop around the neck of the scrotum. The device is then in the condition as appears in FIG. 2. The final step is to form a loop with the band 16 around the base of the penis by snapping together the cap portion 21 with one of the head snap portions 22 so that the device 10 will take the configuration as shown in FIG. 1. As worn, the attachment points of the band 17 are disposed along the dorsal surface of the penis tending to urge the scrotum and testicles forward and consequently, tending to maintain the penis in a perpendicular attitude with respect to the trunk.

The therapeutic device may be taken off simply by opening the fasteners 21-22 to unloop the band 16 by opening one of the fasteners 23-24 at an attachment point between the

16 and 17.

Although both of the attachment points between the

bands

16 and 17 have been indicated as snap fasteners 23-24, the device will function satisfactorily where one of the attachment points is permanently fixed such as by stitching the end of the band 17 to the band 16.

It will be seen from above that there has been provided an improved therapeutic device for maintaining the human penis in the erect condition by preventing temporarily the return flow of blood to the trunk, which device is simple in design and operation, facile in use and visually unobtrusive.

I claim:

1. A therapeutic device for maintaining the male generative organ in the erect condition comprising a first band of pliable material and of at least a length to encircle the base of the penis, first fastener means serving to connect one end of the band to another portion thereof to form a loop for encircling snugly the base of the penis, a second band of pliable material and of at least a length to extend around the neck of the scrotum from the base portion of the penis, and second snap fastener means serving to connect each end of said second band to said first band.

The therapeutic device of claim 1 wherein said first snap fastener means is arranged on said first band so that in the normal operative position of said device said fastener means is disposed below the dorsal surface of the penis, and wherein said second snap fastener means is arranged on said first band to be disposed normally above the dorsal surface of the penis.

The therapeutic device of claim 1 wherein said first and second snap fastener means is of a variety composed of a cap and a head portion, said first fastener means including a plurality of head portions arranged inwardly from one end of said first band and including a single cap portion to engage selectively the appropriate one of said head portions determinative of the desired snug fit with respect to the penis, said second snap fastener means including a plurality of cap portions arranged on said second band including a plurality of cap portions extending inwardly from one end of said second band, said second snap fastener means including head portions arranged on said first band inwardly of the ends thereof, and said cap portions adjacent said one end of said second band being positioned to accommodate the desired degree of tightness for encircling the neck of the scrotum.

4. A therapeutic device for maintaining a penis in the erect condition, comprising first and second bands each formed of a pliable material, said first band being arranged to form a loop to snugly encircle the base of the penis, said second band being arranged to form a loop to extend around the neck of the being arranged to form a loop to extend around the neck of the scrotum, and means connecting said second band to said first band, said connection means including a plurality of fasteners formed of cooperable first and second fastener portions, one of said first fastener portions being disposed at one end of said second band, spaced apart relation from the other end of said second band, and two of said second fastener portions being arranged in a spaced apart relationship on said first band intermediate the ends thereof.
