Delivery devices for running threads are known in which the thread runs tangentially to a single layer winding storage on a winding drum and is removed therefrom axially by means of a ring and in which the rotary speed of the winding drum is provided in dependency upon the device controlled by the winding storage, whereby the winding drum has a truncated cone shaped running face for a thread feed for a cylindrical running off face receiving the winding storage and whereby the feed ring is formed as a brake ring engaging in a brake ring elastically surrounding the feeding space at its removing end. (German Pat. No. 1,262,847). Corresponding delivery devices are used, on the one hand, for the longitudinal measuring of threads and, on the other hand, in particular for coordination to looms, weaving automates, knitting machines or the like. The latter, in particular, because they are not only suitable to make ready a predetermined, relatively exactly settable thread length for removal, rather also an extremely constant thread removal tension is present, even if the removal speed increases suddenly. The insert possibilities of these delivery devices find a certain limit in the peripheral speed of the winding drum. If this peripheralspeed surpasses certain limit values, which stand among others also in dependency on the elasticity of the used thread, the occurring centrifugal forces can bring about a slight lifting of the thread rotating with the winding drum, from the space of the drum jacket. This brings about the danger that the feeding of the thread in the range of the truncated cone-shaped receiving face is'no more assured absolutely safe. Also under circumstances certain difficulties occur in case of fallen out yarn types, as a hemp, jute or a relatively rigid thread of synthetic material. Finally, these devices demand also a certain feed in tension, in order to assure the wedging-in of the thread on the truncated cone-shaped run on face.
It is one object of the present invention to provide a thread delivery device which is designed such, that with a stabile and simple structure it is brought about that the winding storage produced by a rearward thread feed on the winding body is advanced without difficulty to the head end of the winding body, inspite of the fact that the winding body has over its entire length, thus from the feeding plane to the removing point a constant peripheral length. p
It is another object of the present invention to provide a thread delivery device, wherein the winding body is formed of a polygon, consisting of individual rods or the like and an abutting surface projecting to the feeding plane as well as controlled following the thread feeding point provided for advancement of the winding storage towards the head end of the winding body.
An advantageous structure consists thereby in accordance with the present invention in an arrangement according to which the winding body is formed in a shape of an immovable polygone and the abutment face runs around relative to the winding body.
Furthermore, it is of advantage, if in accordance with the present invention an endsided profiled cam disk is coordinated to the thread eye carrier, the end face of the cam disk projecting in axial direction of the winding body up to the height of the abutment face and in radial direction over the connecting line of the polygon edges.
It is thereby of advantage, if in accordance with the present invention, the polygon edges are formed of angular symmetrically disposed rods, which are rearwardly oriented by a head plate sitting on a central axis and at the rearward end due to inside disposed recesses project with a part of their cross section beyond the jacket face of the cam disk.
Another advantageous solution resides in the fact, that a wobble plate, which is cam controlled and disposed on a central axis is provided on the free end of which project in radial direction beyond the connecting line of the polygon edges.
Finally the solution is possible in accordance with the present invention, that on the rods forming the polygon of the winding carrier an individual bushing each forming an abutment face is displaceably mounted in axial direction and following each other are controlled by a rotating link slot.
In order to design a delivery device of the type described above such that in spite of feeding the thread through a longitudinal channel and in spite of a freely flying, disposed winding body with a thread eye rotating relative to the latter a non-rotatable immovable holder of the winding body is obtained by mechanical structural parts realizing a force engagement, the present invention provides a central immovably disposed axle as carrier of the winding body, on which the thread eye carrier bushing having the longitudinal channel for the thread removal is rotatably mounted and the rearward end of which has an eccentrically arranged neck of the axle which is supported in a carrying plate rotating synchronously with the thread eye carrier bushing, which carrying plate has an opening which is flush with the longitudinal channel.
An advantageous structure consists thereby in accordance with the present invention in an arrangement in which from the rearward end side of the thread eye carrier bushing a drive pin projects, which engages in .a radial slot of the carrier plate. This slot assures then the synchronous rotation of the carrier plate. Another solution advantageous in this relation is given in accordance with the present invention such, that the thread eye carrier bushing and the carrier plate disposed in front of the rearward end side is equipped with a gear ring, which is in meshing engagement with an adjacent gear.
In order that in case of a large output of different yarns uniform removing relations are brought about, in accordance with the present invention the polygon winding body forms at its head sided removal end a circular disk the outer edge of which constitutes the removal face.
An advantageous embodiment resides in accordance with the present invention in an arrangement according to which the disk has individual groovings on the side pointing towards the polygon winding rod, which groovings extend between two polygon head sections and extend obliquely rising towards the edge of the disk.
It is in accordance with the present invention of advantage that the winding body polygon rods are set rearwardly freely flying on the disk.
An advantageous feature is' in accordance with the present invention realized such, that the winding body including the disk rotates in the direction of the thread eye or oppositely to the latter.
On the one hand it is favorable, in accordance with the present invention, if the edge of the disk is surrounded by a brake ring, which is known per se, which brake ring is immovable relative to the winding body rotating in the direction of the thread eye.
On the other hand, it is also advantageous in accordance with the present invention, if the edge of the disk is surrounded by a brake ring, which is known per se, which rotates jointly with the disk.
An advantageous structure is in accordance with the present invention given by the arrangement, that between the winding body carrying axis and the thread eye carrier bushing a planet drive is there interposed, such, that the outer ring wheel meshing with the planet gears can be driven separately.
Finally in accordance with the present invention, it is also of advantage that between the winding body carrier bushing and the thread carrier bushing a planet drive is interposed, such, that the planet gears sitting on the driven thread eye bushing are arranged in pairs and one planet gear of the pair is in engagement with an immovable gear and the other planet gear of this pair meshes with the winding body-carrying bushing mounting the winding body on its driven carrier axle.
Due to this structure a delivering device for running threads, in particular highly elastical or relatively stiff and also thick threads is provided, which regardless of the inner characteristics of the threads, operates extremely safe, without providing the danger, that during the winding of the thread on the winding body or during advancement of the wound layers the one layer arrangement of the winding storage would be removed. By the formation of the polygon of individual rods, during winding of the thread on the windingbody between the individual rods, freely tensioned thread sections are created which thread sections make possible a safe advancement of the thread layers by the abutment face controlled trailing the thread feeding point. Furthermore the freely tensioned thread sections lead to the advantage, that the friction between the thread and the winding body is reduced, which favors the advancement of the winding storage. The advancement of the thread layers'in sections, progressing over the peripheral length of the winding body, contributes to the maintenance of the single layer arrangement. The winding body can have on its entire axial length equal peripheral length. During winding no tensions have to be maintained, the size of which suffices as a reaction force, in order to obtain the advancement, as in the previously known solutions, where the winding tension the squeezing into the wedge angle of the winding drum. If the winding carrier is designed in form of an immovable polygon, this leads to the appreciable advantage, that the thread positions can be applied even at a high peripheral speed to the thread eye on the winding body, in contrast with the winding bodies rtating with a high speed. The safe advancement of the winding storage make possible the cam disk constituting the abutment face. This applies in particular, when the cam disk, proposed in accordance with the present invention, is chosen with the profiled end face, which projects in radial direction beyond the connecting line of the polygon-edges. The measure of the projection can be chosen always so great, that even upon removal of the threads, the danger does not exist, that the latter slide off from the end face to the jacket face of the cam disk accordingly would not be advanced. The formation of the polygon-edges from the individual, preferably at least outside round rods in connection with the rearward recesses of these rods assures in addition to a favorable constructive arrangement again a possibly wide projection of the cam disk in radial direction, furthermore a favorable effect of the abutment face in the immediate neighboring ranges of each rod. An embodiment equally favorable in this direction resides in the use of the wobble disk of the present invention and of the bushings pre controlled towards the head'side trailing on the rods in axial direction, respectively the end faces of the bushing forming the abutment faces for the yarn layers provided on the winding body. The winding body which is relatively heavy as to its weight sits on a sufficient stabile axis to be immovably mounted. The thread-eye-carrier-bushing rotates about the axis. The bushing has the longitudinal channel for the thread passage. The non-resistant ability of the rigid axis carrying the winding body is assured due to the eccentrically disposed axle neck, in order to retain the latter in turn again in the space, in particular to support the same in radial direction, the carrier plate is provided. Since, on the other hand, the thread entering into the end sided rearward opening of the longitudinal channel through the plane of this carrier plate, the latter has the opening flush with the longitudinal channel, and this opening runs synchronously with the thread eye carrierbushing. The structure is extremely stabile. It permits the working with the very high speeds, without creating the danger, that the winding body moves, in particular performs angular rotations. The circular disk follows the winding body formed as a polygon, which disk assures a nearly uniform thread removal. This is particulary of advantage in case of thin and highly elastic threads, since the latter require a uniform removal. Caused by the uniform removal, also in case of thin elastic threads always in case of an extensive one-layer arrangement of the winding storage on the winding body, maximum outputs of the delivery device is obtained.
The disk causing the nearly uniform removal permits furthermore in the most favorable manner the coordination of a brake ring, in order to maintain continuously a thread tension between the thread removing point of the polygon and the outer edge of the disk of the removing face. If the polygon has a greater number of edges, thus comes closer to the circular shape, the more uniform will the thread removal be over the circular disk. This brings about disadvantage somewhat to progressive section-like displacements of the thread layers. Thus it has been found advantageous, to form the winding body as a polygon-having very few edges and to obtain the uniform thread removal by the individual groovings on the side of the disk pointing towards the polygon. The individual groo vings are provided on the disk such, that they adjust themselves to the greatest extent to the thread removal run and,
thereby exclude undesirable, suddenly occurring pull tensions. Furthermore the disk sitting on the winding body-carrying axis serves also the holding of the freely flying winding body-polygon rods extending thereover, which at the end side project with one part of their cross-section over the jacket face of the cam disk disposed on the thread eye carrierbushing. From this results the possibility, to provide that the winding body including the disk rotates in the direction of the thread eye or in opposite direction to the latter. The delivery device adjusts itself to a great extent to the characteristics of the thread. In case of a thread, by example jute thread, which is inclined to be easily tangled up and interfering with the one-layer arrangement of the winding storage, a greater stressing of the thread section disposed between the disk and the winding storage can be obtained by the thread eye and winding body, which run around in the same direction in case of a standing brake ring. If the winding body together with the disk and the brake ring provided on the latter rotate opposite to the thread ey e, extremely high outputs of the delivering device can be realized with corresponding.
yarns. For obtaining the rotation of the winding body in the same or in opposite direction to the thread eye a planet drive is particularly suitable, which is switched between the winding body-carrying axis and the thread eye carrier bushing. On the other hand, the direction of rotation and the number of revolutions of the winding body can be brought about by a varying drive of the outer. wheel rim meshing the planet gears, and on the. other hand by selection of the transmission ratio between the planet gear meshing with the winding bodycarrier bushing.

Referring now to the drawings, in accordance with the first to fourth embodiments the delivery device has an immovable bearing housing 1. In the latter is disposed non-rotatably the central rigid axle 2 freely extending towards the head end. In the axle 2 is mounted furthermore concentrically rotating to the rigid axle 2 the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3, which at its free end has the disk-like shaped thread eye-carrier 4, which is equipped with a thread eye 5.
The central axle 2 carries at its head-end a circular head plate 6. From the latter extend directed rearwardly four rods 7, 8, 9 and 10 provided in angular symmetrical arrangement. The rods 7, 8, 9 and 10, which are found as round rods, form the polygon-like body seen in peripheral direction. The latter stands still during the operation of the delivery device.
At the head side in front of the thread eye carrier 4 is disclosed a cam disk 11. The latter runs together with the thread eye carrier 4 and thereby also together with the thread eye 5. The profiled end face 12 of the cam disk 11 forms with its highest head point 12" an abutment face projecting over the rotating plane x-x of the thread eye 5. The profile of the end face 12 of the cam disk 11 is such, that a continuous rising up to the headsided abutment face 12 is provided, which extends over a certain angular extent and from there again a continuous lowering to the deepest point 12 of the end face 12. The abutment face 12 is angularly set off to the thread eye 5, so that it trails continuously the thread eye 5.
The diameter of the cam disk 11 is such, that its jacket face 11' projects in radial direction over the connecting lines of the individual rods 7 and 8, 8 and 9, 9 and 10, and 10 and 7, on which connecting lines the thread F wound by the thread eye extends, see particularly FIG. 2.
The rearward ends of the rods 7, 8, 9 and 10 are equipped with recesses 13, which are disposed on the inner side. Due to these recesses 13, into which the cam disk 11 enters, it is brought about that the rods 7, 8, 9 and 10 project with a part of its cross-section over the jacket face 11' of the cam disk 11, compare FIGS. 2 and 3. An elastic damping ring 14 cooperating with the margin edge 6 can be coordinated to the head plate 6, below which damping ring 14 the thread is removed under the head. The damping ring 14 can, by example, be equipped with individual brushes 14' which inpress the edge 6.
For obtaining the non-rotatability of the central axle 2, the latter is equipped at its rear end with an eccentrically disposed axle end 15. The same is mounted in a carrier plate 16, which in turn again is rotatably mounted in an eccentric opening 17 of the bottom 18 of the housing 1 and has at least one opening 60. The carrier plate 16 rotates together with the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3 and in particular due to coupling by means of a pin 19, which enters a radial slot 20 of the carrier plate 16, see FIGS. 4 to 6. The thread eye carrier bushing has in addition a longitudinal channel 21 and output member 22. The longitudinal channel 21 and the output member 22 are preferably nearly in the same plane as the thread eye 5. The opening is flush with the longitudinal channel 21. Due to the corresponding formation of the carrier plate 16 and the assured rotating movement of the carrier plate with the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3 the thread can be inserted from the bottom side of the housing 1 in the direction of the arrow Y in the longitudinal channel 21, removed from the member 22 and thereafter pulled through the thread eye 5. The structural form assures, that in spite of the non-movable axle 2 and thereby immovable winding body a free rotation of the thread eye is possible with the entrance of the thread in the bottom sided range of the housing 1.
In the solution, in accordance with FIG. 7, the abutment face 12 is formed by a wobble disk 23. The latter sits on a correspondingly formed bearing ring 24 designed concave at its periphery of the central axle 2. It is engaged by a pressure spring 25, which supports itself on an annular ring 26 of the central axle 2. The wobble disk 23 is controlled by the cam end face 27, which is formed by the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3, which has recesses 28 for the entrance of the rearward end 29 of the rods 7, 8, 9 and 10 and has the longitudinal channel 21 for the threading through the thread F.
In the embodiment, in accordance with FIG. 8, the abutment faces 12' consist of the end faces of the individual bushing 30, which are displaceably mounted on the rods 7, 8, 9, 10 in longitudinal direction of the rods and following each other by the link slot 31 of the thread-eye carrier bushing 3 are pre-controlled to the head end of the device. Each bushing 30 has a finger 32, which enters the link slot 31, which link slot 31 is disposed inclined to the longitudinal axis, that means, the central axle 2, in order to assure the trailing control. Again the thread eye following the channel 21 is angularly set off to the bushing 30 which is controlled on the head side at the front, so that a trailing control is assured. Herein the term cam disc means includes the bushings 30 as well as the slots 31.
In the fourth embodiment, in accordance with FIGS. 9 and instead of the joinder by a pin, that by meshing gear rims are provided. For this purpose the thread eye carrier bushing 3 has at its rearward end a peripheral teething 61. The carrying plate 16 is adjacent the rearward end face of the thread-eye carrier-bushing 3, which carrier plate 16' in its central opening holds the axle end and which has a peripheral teething 62. The peripheral teething 61 and the peripheral teething 62 mesh jointly with a laterally adjacent gear 63. The latter can simultaneously be the driving gear of the device. For obtaining a sufficient play freedom with the nevertheless a good forced engagement, the axle M l of the gear 63 is arranged at about median height between the axle M 2 of the axle end 15 and the central axle M 3 of the rigid axle 2, about which in turn concentrically the thread eye carrier bushing rotates.
In accordance with the fifth embodiment, shown in FIGS. 11 to 15, the delivery device comprises an immovable bearing housing 1, in which the thread eye carrier bushing 3 is rotatably mounted. In the latter sits rotatably the winding body carrier axle 2'.
The central winding body carrier axle 2' is equipped at its head end with a circular disk 6, the outer edge 6' of which forms the removing face for the yarn applied to the polygon-shaped winding body. From the disc 6 extend rearwardly freely flying the polygon rods 7, 8, 9 and 10. At the side pointing towards the polygon rods of the disk 6, individual recesses 33 are provided, which extend between two polygon head sections 34 and extend towards the edge 6' of the disk 6 obliquely rising.
The edge 6' is in this embodiment equipped with a bearing recess 35 for a brake ring 36 consisting of flexible material and rotating with the disk 6. Between the edge 6 and the brake ring 36 the wound thread is removed from the winding carrier over head.
However, a brake ring 37 which is immovable to the winding body rotating in the direction of the thread eye, is coordinated to the edge 6' of the disk, see the point-dotted brake ring 37 in FIG. 11.
For obtaining a rotation of the winding body including the disk 6 in the direction of the thread eye 5 or in a direction opposite to the latter a planet drive is provided in the rearward part of the delivery device. For this purpose the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3 forms the member 38, the diametrically opposite sections 38' of which carry the bearing pins 39 of the planet gears 40, which, on the one hand, mesh with the control gear 41 sitting on the winding body carrying axle 2' and, on the other hand, with an outer rim 42 mounted on the thread-eye carrier bushing 3. The outer rim 42, as well as the thread eye carrier bushing 3 are put to rotation separate from each other over driving belts 43 and 44 and belt- pulleys 45 and 46 by means of a driving unit 47.
By variation of the number of revolutions of the outer rim 42 and of the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3 towards each other one can by example drive the winding body in opposite directions to the thread eye 5 or in the same direction to the latter.
The thread eye carrier bushing 3 has in addition a longitudinal channel 21 with an out put channel 22 obliquely directed to the latter. The longitudinal channel 21 and the output channel ,22 are in the same plane. The latter is arragned such, that the longitudinal channel 21 is disposed within the range between the two planet gears 42 and permits the disturbance free threading of the thread F from the backside of the delivery device.
If the thread F, provided on the winding body in onelayer windings, is removed over head, the individual recesses or groovings 33 permit due to their inclined arrangement a uniform thread removal.
In accordance with the sixth embodiment, shown in FIGS. 16 and 17, thread eye carriers 4 and the cam disk 11 are designed integral.
In the bearing housing secured to a console 48 sits the carrying axle 2" put into rotation by a drive (not shown). The carrying axle 2" carries at its forward end freely rotatably the winding body-carrier bushing 2" and is forcibly connected with the thread eye carrier bushing 3 by a fitting key 49. In the carrier axle 2" is provided a longitudinal channel 21, which terminates into an output channel 22 radially directed to the latter of the thread-eye-carrier-bushing 3. The longitudinal channel 21 continuous into an axially directed bore 55, in order to simplify by means of suitable tools the insertion of the thread F into the longitudinal channel 21. By means of this tool the thread can be pulled through the opening 56 of the thread eye carrier 4 flush with the output channel 22, from where the thread can be inserted into the thread eye 5.
Between the winding body carrier bushing 2" and the thread eye carrier bushing 3 is inserted a planet drive. For this purpose a thread eye carrier bushing 3' has two diametrically oppositely disposed pins 50, which carry a pair of planet gears 51 and 52. The latter sit non-rotably on the pin 50. Some of the planet gears 51 mesh with the central immovable gear 53 disposed I on the housing 1, while the other planet gears 52 mesh with the gear rim54 of the winding body carrier bushing 2". By example, by variation of the transmission ratio between the planet gears 52 and the gear rim 54 of the winding body-carrier-bushing 2 the winding body can either rotate in the same direction as the thread eye 5 or in the opposite direction. The direction of the rotation of the winding body is in addition dependent upon the thread characteristics.
ln all embodiments, by example a mechanical or in form of a light gate, operating control device can be coordinated to the winding body, the task of which is, to sense the winding storage on the winding body and to control the device such, that always an about predeter mined winding thread is present on the winding body.
While I have disclosed several embodiments of the present invention, it is to be understood that these embodiments are given by example only and not in a limiting sense.
