Definitions
- the present invention has for object a timepiece comprising two indicating members which are moved step by step, driven respectivelyby two pawls operating simultaneously and intermittently, and which act each on a toothing provided on each indicating member.
- This timepiece is characterized by the fact that it comprises a movable abutting member interposed between the two pawls, the whole being arranged in such a way that this abutting member acts on the pawls for preventing them from being simultaneously lifted and from releasing thus simultaneously the two indicating members while, when only one of them tends to be lifted, it moves the said abutting member towards the other pawl, that permits it to be lifted and to release the indicating member with which it cooperates.
- the drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
- FIGURE of the drawing is a plane view of a part of a calendar watch in which only the elements necessary to the understanding of the invention have been represented.
- the watch as represented comprises an annular crown 1 carrying the 31 figures of the dates, not represented, and which, thereby, indicates the dates.
- This crown l is provided with an inner toothing 1a which permits driving.
- the watch comprises moreover an indicating member 2 carrying the names of the days of the week, not represented, and which, thereby, indicates the days of the week.
- This indicating member 2 is situated in the center of the movement and is, consequently, coaxial to the crown 1; it is provided with an outer toothing 2a permitting driving.
- the stepwise driving of the two indicating members 1 and 2 is effected simultaneously by means of a rocking control lever 3 provided with two resilient arms 3a and 3b constituting two pawls cooperating respectively with the toothings 1a and 2a.
- This rocking lever 3 is provided with a sole 3c, secured to the frame of the movement, to which it is connected by a thin portion 3d, elastically deformable, constituting the return spring of the said rocking lever.
- This rocking lever is provided with a beak 3 e cooperating with a snail shaped cam 4 driven by a wheel 5 making one revolution per 24 hours, driven by the gearing of the movement, which has not been represented.
- the rocking lever 3 is lifted by the cam 4 and, at each revolution of the cam, it falls again, its beak leaving the noze of the cam 4, that produces the instantaneous jump of the two indicating members 1 and 2 in the direction of the arrows 6 and 7, respectively.
- Two jumpers constituted by the two resilient arms 8a and 8b of an element 8 secured to the frame of the movement, cooperate each with one of the indicating members 1 and 2 for holding them stationary when they are not driven.
- the present watch comprises moreover a control stem 9, diagrammatically represented, operating a correcting wheel 10, which is a sliding wheel, rigid with a star-wheel, not represented, which cooperates with one or the other of the toothings 1a and 2a, according to the direction in which is rotated the stem 9.
- a correcting wheel 10 which is a sliding wheel, rigid with a star-wheel, not represented, which cooperates with one or the other of the toothings 1a and 2a, according to the direction in which is rotated the stem 9.
- This mechanism permits the manual correction of the indicating members of the dates and of the days.
- An abutting member 11 having the shape of a triangle articulated in the vicinity of one of its apexes, at 12, on the frame of the movement, is interposed between the two pawls 3a and 3b driving the two indicating members.
- This abutting member cooperates with the pawls by means of its two sides adjacent to the apex in the vicinity of which it is articulated and thus prevents the pawls from being lifted simultaneously and from releasing the two indicating members 1 and 2, thus preventing any untimely movement thereof, especially at the end of their instantaneous jump which, by reason of the inertia of the said indicating members, could go beyond the value of one tooth.
- Timepiece comprising two indicating members which are moved step by step, driven respectively by two pawls operating simultaneously and intermittently, and which act each on a toothing provided on each indicating member, a movable abutting member interposed between the two pawls, means for correcting the setting of either indicator, the abutting member moving towards one or the other pawl during a correction operation, the pawl it moves towards being locked in place while the other is released for the correction operation.
- Timepiece as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the two pawls are made of one piece.
- Timepiece as claimed in claim 1 characterized by the fact that the two indicating members are coaxial to each other and are provided one with an outer toothing and the other with an inner toothing.
- Timepiece as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the abutting member is constituted by an element hangedly mounted between the two pawls.
- Timepiece as claimed in claim 4, characterized by the fact that the abutting member is an element of triangular shape articulated in the vicinity of one of its apexes, this triangular element cooperating with the pawls by means of its 'two sides which are adjacent to the apex in the vicinity of which it is articulated.
