Abstract
The present invention relates to improvement and innovations in a line storing, bailing, lacing bobbin and line cutting means; additionally and suitably performing as a multi-purpose and selective hand tool and guage means, including means for engaging and disengaging a related multi-purpose safety knife means with or without an extensional cube for operationally performing shell-shucking means in the order of clams, oysters, and the dressing of shell-fish and fish generally; both in marine and field.

SHEEN BF 2 INVENTOB CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION This application is a continuation-in-part to my-pending application, titled: Devices and Accessories for and with Line Holder-Cutter Hand Tool Combination. Ser. No. 828,072 filed, May 1, 1969 and becoming U.S. Pat. No. 3,596,300 dated Aug. 1, 1971, an improvement of my patent; titled Line-Holder U.S. Pat. No. 2,532,394 dated Dec. 5, 1950.
BRIEF SUMMARY This invention basically and more particularly relates to a hand holding embodiment; contoured and symetrically constructed to perform as a two-fold line holdercutter of the type used by operators for the lacing and bundling of electric wires into cables when coacting as a line-bobbin, or the stone-masons for holding a plumb line, or by fishermen for holding, paying out, or reeling in line, cord, twine or other flexible strands for sundry uses and purposes.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a relatively flat metallic embodiment having elongated arms juxtapositioned from its central portion to perform as hand-gripping means, symetrically distributed as handles for a multiplicity of tool means which are membered to additionally perform when severing container lids or tops, and the removal of bottle caps, including an assortment of screw-drivers in various sizes.
Another object of this invention is to provide a unitary embodiment which not only performs as a selective tool means; but, suitably provides guage and length measuring means in inches and metric, for wire, bolts, taps, screws and nails including their average lengths, which will be found highly convenient and useful as a time saving device.
Another object of this invention is to provide a line holding and line cutting means, which will be found additively useful for skinning the insulation of individual electrical wires and incidental items in that category.
Another object of this invention is to provide in sub- -ject embodiment further membered tool means, in the order of piecer, prodder, scriber, scraper, fish scaler, including the emergency-wise of the overall constructed device as a plumb-bob.
Still further, another object of this invention is to provide a slot-hole proviso means for engaging and disengaging a related multi-purpose safety knife means,
when operably performing shell-shucking means; whereby it will also be found that a four-holed proviso means will suitably set subject device on a four legged stand which is combined with a drip-pan having a screened spout with inter-changeable screens for the separation of grit, waste and edibles, becoming fresh and not pre-heated production-wise.
In this last connection, another object of this inven tion is to provide proviso means for engaging and disengaging a extensional cube for suitably engaging and disengaging saidmulti-purpose safety knife means; when operably performing said shell-shucking means over larger or assorted, sized clams, in the order of button,
cherry-stone, little-neck and chowder to quahog; as
well as other related and incidental bi-valves, wherein said extensional cube will be found disclosed in said related and pending application.
An additional object is to provide a combination device which is compact, safe and easily mass produced.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS In the present embodiments of the invention hereinafter described in greater detail, FIG. 1 and the referenced numeral 10 denote the novel holder tool-guage means, which consists of a relatively flat metallic sheath or plate, of such dimensions having an overall less highly polished would be typically preferred, unless special attention may be necessary to the edges for prolonged usages, whereby may be required in the manufacturing processes, all which will be found inexpensive, easily mass produced, attractive and readily marketable; with basic construction meeting Product Safety Standards," resulting from public demand.
For the purpose of further easily identifying said tool guage means construction 10, his divided into five sections or portions, being: upper, lower, intermediate or center with respective right and left sides, whereby; upper comprises bottle-cap opener 29, screw driverpryer 18!), followed by throated raceway l3, and cavity 14a for line entry 14 when in use a plumb-bob 10 as shown in FIG. 3 with point 27 of FIG. 1 for centering when emergency-wise or as an entity 10 when operatively co-acting as a line bobbin 10a, whereby said line 14 may be also affixed through said cavity 14a as a needled eye when push-pull method is conveniently applied for netting purposes, while just below on the left side is shown line-cutter wire insulation stripper l2 flanked by small and larger screwdrivers 18, followed by stand-hole proviso 36, and'cap-lifter 30 which is flanked by said proviso-hole 36 at right side followed by line-lock 17 and srcaper-scalers 34, upper central portion and slightly lower of said proviso-holes 36 provides slot 32 hole 33 and inserted safety-knife means 31 while circled area 33 xx indicates integral membered relationship to cavity area 35xxx which suitably positions said clam 35a shown in FIG. 3, cross hair lines in exact central portion indicate relationship to arrowed area 19 which integrally forms and provides a multitude of guages 21 and 21a for matching drills, taps and screws, which is lowerly followed by tapered wire guage means 20, while length measuring means for said drills, screws or bolts in metric at the extreme left side 24 with companion cavity 24a, and also performed with inch scale 22 with head cavities 23 and 23a which also includes overall measuring of average sized nails; extreme lower central portion indicates addional holes proviso means 36 followed by clip 28 for can piercer 27 which is followed on the left by clip 26b as membered to lid-prer screw- driver 26c and 18 respectively and on the right side with clip 26a which is companion piece for can-piecer, scriber and hole enlarging awl;four throated line holding cavities 11 form and suitably provide a two-fold reel or spool assembly,whereby; line storing or paying out or arresting unintended unwinding is co-actingly controlled at each entry 16 followed by line-feeler-sensers and archaic bi-furcating arms 25 which also permits line-locking when a small or short length is desired such as would be required by a stone-mason or bricklayer whereby side-winding as a single spool is performed with line end locking in said controlled cavitied spools,or as would be desired by fishermen as a hand-line holder or when used as a unitary entity as a line-bobbin for netting and tieing purposes.
FIG. 2 indicates said tool-guage means entity 10 in a cut away view when in use as a plumb-bob emergencywise where top or upper body end 29 permits passing of line 14 at cavity 14a knotted at or over driverprodder 18b then suspended to elevated tie-point or nail at 14b.
FIG, 3 indicates a partial or cut away view, wherein line 14 has been severed operationally by cutter 12 for desired length becoming line cut-off l4x,whereby it must be noted that said cutter 12 will also cut or strip layers of insulation from electric wire especially tip stripping from said wire ends for testing usages which is not illustrated,but important to note another dualoperation means.

FIG. 5 is another cross sectional side view illustrating a multi-purpose safety knife means 31 stored in sheath or cover 34b which is associated and a relative instrument when operatively attached to said tool-guage means l0;(It must also be noted that a similar safety knife means has disclosed and receiving favorable action in said pending application.) said safety knife means 31 comprises handle 3ldd,driver-prodder 3lee coarse scaler 3lc,fine scaler 31d followed by plain pressure edge 31x and protection ringed shield 34x,while under side piercers 3laa ,are followed by partially rounded cutters 31bb and straight cutting edge 31 cc whereby it must be statd that serated edges are specifically designed to conform to co-act when said cutting edges meet to separate twirling edges of shells about to be severed;whereby partially rounded piercer -prodder cutter end which is membered to safety cavity area 42aa is also followed by safety tie-hook 31b wherein it must also be stated that said piercer-prodder-cutter end 31a may be operatively pointed and inserted into the hinge,umbo or siphon area of a clam or oyster when required depth has been reached,said safety area 42aa and tie-hook 31b will automatically coact as a safety limit-stop,avoiding otherwise possible injury to operaters hands,after said insertion has made a clockwise pressured motion is required to complete shellshucking means,after which said piercer-proddercutter 31a operatively performs to further separate mantles and edibles from waste in a sanitary manner;- wherein it furtherly must be stated that said combination tool-guage means embodiment provides a slot-hole engaging means being numerals 32 and 33 respectively for suitably insertion of said safety-knife means 31 which also performs shell-shucking operation when said clam 35 a has been positioned into jagged guage cavity area 35xxx, Whereby,FlG. 6 indicates a repeated operation as stated above but, said tool-guage means 10 has been positioned onto a four-legged stand 35c secured with wing-nuts 35aa and placed in a combination pan-spout utility 35bb which also indicates said spout 35b with interchangeable screen 35dd to separate juices from waste falling into pans inner area 35cc upon performing shell-shucking means for assorted sizes;said engagement of said safety-knife means 10 into proviso means circled 33xx with added numerals are merely repeated for clarity of illustration.Whereby it must also be stated said membered and disclosed extension-cube or clip is positioned at head holes proviso means 36 and secured with winged-nuts 35aa as shown in FIG. 6, that if said clams are found too large then the disclosed Piecer-prodder cutter method is further recommended.
It is apparent and understood that said embodiments,constructions and drawings, herein shown and described may be modified or changed without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, that no limitations are intended other than as defined in appended claims.
What is claimed and desired to be secured by United States Letters Patent is:
l. A line holder-cutter hand tool-guage and measuring means in a combination embodiment,comprising a relatively flat metallic plate having five portions becoming upper,lower,central with right and left side extremities, said upper and lower extremities are configurated to form a plurality of outwardly extended arms in which each perform two-fold operational tool means- ;and said central portion having a oblonged cavity and suitably provides a plurality of guage means for wire,- screws,bolts,taps and nails with average lenghth measuring means which are notched, scales in metric,inches and pennyweight at said sides extremities; slightly above and below of said oblonged cavity are four openthroated cavities suitably forming two-fold reel accesses,which are substantially provided with notched line feeler-sensers adjacent to co-acting bifurcating arms permitting line ingress and egress and readily arresting unintended unwinding from said line storing means,- with line cutting and line locking operations being performed at said upper portion;
whereby,said oblonged cavity also additively provides a receptive slot-hole terminal area suitable for adapting a membered multi-purpose safety knife means,having a piercer-prodder a safety area and a tie-hook for mated engagement into said slothole terminal area,which is suitable for performing bivalve or shell-shucking means when said clam has been positioned on the jagged edged area of said guage and oblonged cavity,said process may be repeated with insertion of a related and membered extensional-cube proviso means for the larger and assorted sizes.
2. A tool for use as a line holder-cutter,guage,- measuring and shell shuckingmeans,cmprising; a relatively flat rectangular metallic plate having five portions becoming upper,lower,central with right and left side extremities;and said central portion having an oblonged cavity which is upwardly headed by a slothole terminal for engaging of said membered safetyknife means; said oblonged cavity is also abounded by a plurality of engaging holes, said engaging holes suitably position said tool-means embodiment onto a threaded multi-legged stand and secured with mated wing-nut combination means; said tool-means embodiment and a multi-legged stand combined are furtherly positioned into a rectangular pan having a pouring spout,said pouring spout having interchangeable screens which are slidably inserted,also furtherly facilitate in a variety of usages becoming sanitary and systematic when operatively separating edibles and juices from sand and grit.

A line holder-cutter hand tool-guage and measuring means in a combination embodiment,comprising a relatively flat metallic plate having five portions becoming upper,lower,central with right and left side extremities, said upper and lower extremities are configurated to form a plurality of outwardly extended arms in which each perform two-fold operational tool means;and said central portion having a oblonged cavity and suitably provides a plurality of guage means for wire,screws,bolts,taps and nails with average lenghth measuring means which are notched, scales in metric,inches and pennyweight at said sides extremities; slightly above and below of said oblonged cavity are four open-throated cavities suitably forming two-fold reel accesses,which are substantially provided with notched line feeler-sensers adjacent to co-acting bifurcating arms permitting line ingress and egress and readily arresting unintended unwinding from said line storing means,with line cutting and line locking operations being performed at said upper portion; whereby,said oblonged cavity also additively provides a receptive slot-hole terminal area suitable for adapting a membered multi-purpose safety knife means,having a piercerprodder a safety area and a tie-hook for mated engagement into said slot-hole terminal area,which is suitable for performing bivalve or shell-shucking means when said clam has been positioned on the jagged edged area of said guage and oblonged cavity,said process may be repeated with insertion of a related and membered extensional-cube proviso means for the larger and assorted sizes.

A tool for use as a line holder-cutter,guage,measuring and shell shucking means,comprising; a relatively flat rectangular metallic plate having five portions becoming upper,lower, central with right and left side extremities;and said central portion having an oblonged cavity which is upwardly headed by a slot-hole terminal for engaging of said membered safety-knife means; said oblonged cavity is also abounded by a plurality of engaging holes, said engaging holes suitably position said tool-means embodiment onto a threaded multi-legged stand and secured with mated wing-nut combination means; said tool-means embodiment and a multi-legged stand combined are furtherly positioned into a rectangular pan having a pouring spout,said pouring spout having interchangeable screens which are slidably inserted,also furtherly facilitate in a variety of usages becoming sanitary and systematic when operatively separating edibles and juices from sand and grit.
