INCRUSTATION-PREVENTIVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 369,325, dated September 6, 1887.
Application filed September 24, 1886. Serial No. 214,470. (No specimens.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, THOMAS DOOLEY, a citizen of Great Britain, residing at Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Composition of Matter to be Used for the Removal and Prevention of Incrustations in Steam-Boi1ers, of which the following is a specification.
My composition consists of the following ingredients, combined in the proportions stated, viz: caustic soda, 40Bau1n, one gallon potatoes, one pound; sugar, four ounces; salammoniac, one ounce; Indian meal, three pounds. These ingredients are to be thoroughly mingled by agitation over a slow fire till the compound attains the consistency of jelly.
In using the above-named composition one pound of the compound should be used to each ten horsepower of a stean1-boiler.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
The herein-described composition of matter to be used for the removal and prevention of incrustations in steam-boilers, consisting of 2 5 caustic soda, potatoes, sugar, sal-ammoniac, and Indian meal, in the proportions specified.
