- the column includes a plurality of axially disposed sections, each section supporting one of the griddles, and the means for moving the griddles is operative for individually moving the sections, and the griddles mounted thereon, angularly about the axis of the column, and the conductor wires are sufficiently flexible for accommodating the movement of the individual sections of the column relative to the other sections.
- the column includes radial arms directly supporting the griddles and made of high heat-insulating material for insulating the heat from the griddles from the column.
- a mounting construction for machine comprising,
- tubular column of high heat-insulating material including a plurality of axially aligned and butted sections, the sections being individually movable angularly about the axis of the column,
- each section including means constructed and arranged for supporting a griddle
- the column sections have interfitting portions retaining them in axial alignment
- the column also including end elements interfitting with the adjacent column sections for securing the column to a mounting member.
- the construction includes yieldable means interposed between one of the end elements and the ad jacent column section operative for biasing the column sections together into a rigid column.
- one of the end elements and the adjacent column section have axially interfacing cups
- the construction includes an expansion plug fitted in the cups and operates to retain the column section aligned with the end element,
- the yieldable means includes a spring reacting the end element
- a disc mounted for rotational movement about a horizontal axis and having a normal position, the disc having an elongated aperture disposed vertically when the disc is in normal position,
- tubular column being substantially cylindrical and positioned in said aperture and positioned with substantially equal portions on opposite sides of the disc
- each section having a radial operating arm extending on the side of the disc opposite the griddles
- the column includes end elements interfitting with the column sections
- a mounting member for detachably mounting a griddle having electrical elements with exposed terminal elements for connection in a circuit comprising a body portion having a radial arm extending therefrom and a portion constructed and arranged for mechanically supporting the griddle,
- the contacts being of greater transverse dimensions than thecontacts
- the cavities including inner apertures of lesser dimension than the cavities opening to the interior of the body portion for receiving the conductors and connection thereof with the contacts,
- the cavities also including outer apertures of lesser dimensions than the cavities opening forwardly oppositely from the body portion for receiving the terminal elements of the griddle,
- the radial arm includes a solid portion integral with and leading radially from the body portion and in which are formed the inner apertures and at least parts of the cavities, the radial arm also includes a removable outer cap fitted to the solid portion and including the outer apertures for receiving the terminals of the griddle, whereby upon removal of the cap, the contacts can be removed from the cavities.
- the radial arm includes a polygonal portion for telescopingly interfitting with a complementary polygonal portion of the griddle,
- the terminals are fixed against transverse movement, and the contacts in the radial arm on the mounting member accommodate misalignment of the terminals in the griddle.
- the griddle has a radial arm telescoping with the radial arm on the mounting member
- the telescoping radial arms have such cross-sectional shape as to prevent rotation of the griddle about the axis of the radial arms, and to enable interfitting of the radial arms in only a single posi- Mi conjoined construction according to claim 17 wherein the interengaged surfaces of the telescoping radial arms are substantially straight in radial directions and are retained interconnected by friction.
