UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM JAMIESON, OF SARATOGA SPRINGS, NEW YORK.
CLOTH Es-PIN BAG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 368,091, dated August 9, 1887.
y Application filed February 7, 1887. Serial No. 226,826. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern:
-Be it known that l, WILLIAM J AMIEsoN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Saratoga Sprngs,in the county of Saratoga and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Clothes-Pin Bags; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear,
and eXact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specication.
The figure of the drawing is a representa` tion of my clothes-pin bag.
My invention relates to clothes-pin bags designed to be suspended from the clothes-line while hanging out the clothes, and also when taking them down; and it consists in the construction and novel combination of parts, as hereinafter described and claimed.
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawing, A designates the frame of the clothespin holder. This frame A is made of wire, and-comprises the cross -bar B', having upwardly-projecting hooks C D, one at each end. At its middle the cross-bar Bis provided with an integral arm, E, which arm depends from the crossbar B, and is provided at its lower end with a rigid ring, F, which is large enough in diameter to permit a persons hand to be conveniently passed through it. The ringF is deflected slightly from its depending arm E so that the clothes-pins may be readily placed therein or removed therefrom as needed. At its middle the cross-barB is provided with a pivoted loop, H, of wire, by which to suspend the clothes-pin bag when not iu use upon the clothesline. The bag Iis 'of canvas or other suitable material, and is stitched to the cross-bar B, and is also cutout to form the hand-hole K, and stitched around said hole to the ring F.
The manner of using the device is to hang it on the clothes-line by means of the end hooks, C D, with the mouth ofthe bag toward the person using it. It is slid along the line as required, and the clothespins taken ont as wanted, or put into the bag when the clothes are being taken from the line. When not in use, the bag is hung up in the house by the loop H.
Having described this invention, what I claim, and desire to secure b y Letters Patent, 1s-
The combination, with the crossvbar having the end hooks and pivoted loop and the depending arm having the rigid ring, of the bag provided with a hand-hole and attached to the cross bar and rigid ring, substantially as specified.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
l WILLIAM JAMIESON.
