6 Claim, 4 Drawing Figures PATENTEDJUN 61912 n 3,667, 46'! INVENTOR FIG 3 ELSWORTH D. DORY ATTORNEYS noucrua BAG SUPPORT MEANS BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to an improved support and cover assembly having front and rear base members, each contoured to resemble an art object, and are hingedly disposed to each other, the cover assembly providing for secreting a douche bag from view when hanging from fixtures in the bathroom, a notched string for adjusting the height of the cover assembly when hanging from a portable stand or fixture, and a liquid receptacle for containing a solution for providing a wash or sterilization feature to the douche tip when it is inserted in the liquid receptacle.
More particularly, the invention relates to added features over conventional elements of the type described, and in which there is an effect of beautification achieved together with the added functional features for washing or sterilizing the douche tip when it is inserted in the liquid receptacle.
A further object of the invention is to provide a suction cup means which is engaged to one portion of the support area of the cover assembly, and its distal portion is engaged to a suction cup for securing to a wall or the like. Therefore, one of the purposes and realized objects of the invention is to provide means for beautifying the bathroom by secreting from view the douche bag, as well as to provide an easy holder for its support, and to provide a liquid receptacle in the lower extremity of the cover assembly so that a solution contained therein may provide a wash or sterilization feature of the douche tip when it is inserted therein.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In accordance with the preferred embodiment of the invention, there is an improved support means for a douche bag and its portable cover assembly comprising a cover assembly having front and rear base members each hollowed and contoured to resemble an art object, such as an animal, fish, bird or the like, the art object having a long and a short dimension with a hinge along the peripheral long dimension intercupping the front and rear base members, a rotatably mounted spool in the upper portion of the rear base member, a roll of string on the spool, a series of notches formed on the string for engaging a recessed or reduced size opening in the cover assembly so that the length of the external string portion may be adjusted, a hook on the distal end of the string for engaging a hook or bathroom fixture for supporting the entire arrangement, a hook-formed projection mounted in the cover assembly below the spool for supporting the weight of a douche bag full of water, a lower opening through which passes a hose connecting a douche tip, and a liquid receptacle for containing a solution for providing a wash or sterilization feature to the douche tip when inserted therein.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS The above and other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent upon full consideration of the following detailed description and accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is a side elevational view of the improved support means according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, showing the cover assembly opened and the douche tip disposed in a receptacle cup for washing or sterilization;
FIG. 2 is an enlarged broken-away view of the receptacle cup of FIG. 1;
FIG. 3 is a broken-away view. of a hanging means for supporting the cover assembly, also within a preferred mode of the invention; and
FIG. 4 shows the cover assembly supported from a portable support.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS There is shown a cover assembly having a front base member 12 and a rear base member 14, each hollowed and contoured to resemble an art object having a long and a short dimension and which resembles a fish, animal, bird or other art object, FIG. 1 showing in semblance a fish.
The base members 12,14 have a short dimension and along dimension, and along the long dimension 16, there is provided a coupling member in the form of a piano hinge element 18 between the front and rear base members along the long edge 16 of the cover assembly.
On the rear base member 14 at an upper portion 20, there is mounted a reel or spool 22 on which is threadedly rolled a string 24 received thereon. The spool 22 may be spring-biased to turn in a given direction for reeling in the string 24, much as is done by a curtain shade roller. At equal intervals or otherwise along the string, there are disposed a series of notches 26 for engaging a small interior portion of an opening 28, so that as selected ones of the notches are disposed at the opening 28 when the cover assembly is in its open position, the notch 26 catches in the small sized opening 28 and fixes the length of the string that extends upwardly therefrom. The string 24- terminates in a hook 32 which is the distal end from the spool, and the hook 32 is used to engage a bathroom fixture, such as a bar or rod. FIG. 4 shows that a rod 36 extending from a portable support structure 38 with base legs 40 may be used so that the hook 32 may hang the cover assembly in a bathroom or other area, such as a closet.
Beneath the spool 22 and within the upper portion 20, a hook-formed projection 42 is mounted in the base member 14 to support the weight of the douche bag 46 when full of water. The opening at the lower end of the douche bag 46 is coupled to a hose 48 of sufficient length which terminates in a douche tip 50. The hose 48 may pass through a small opening 52 fitted for passing the hose 48 when the front base member 12 is closed with the rear base member 14.
Within the lower confines of the cover assembly, there is a receptacle or cup 56 which in the preferred embodiment is shown in one of the fishtail portions of the cover assembly 10, and which contains a liquid for washing or sterilizing the douche tip 50, or for disposing the tip therein when not in use. The solution may be of any conventional type that is contained in the receptacle cup 56. The cup 56 may be emptied by merely tipping the cover assembly 10 as desired sufficiently to empty it.
The cover assembly 10 completely encases the douche bag upon closure of the front and rear base elements 12,14 along the hinge member 18. A lock or snap securing means 60,62 can be provided in each of the base members 12,14 so that they mutually engage and mate with each other in locking relation to hold thecover assembly closed until it is opened, as desired.
In FIG. 3 there is shown a suction cup means 68 engaged to one portion 70 of the support area 20 of the cover assembly 10, and in which its distal portion 74 is engaged by a suction cup 76 for securing to a wall (not shown).
The cover assembly 10 is shown in FIG. 4 as described above, may be secured by the hook on the notch string to the portable stand, including the arm 36 and the support 38. On the arm 36 there is provided a detent 78 for receiving the hook 32. By means of the cover assembly 10 comprising the front and rear base members 12,14 it is seen that a douche bag is secreted from view by illustrations of a design or object forms or art embodiments of animals, fish or other beautifying effects that may be displayed upon the cover assembly.
Additional embodiments of the invention in this specification will occur to others and therefore it is intended that the true spirit of the invention be limited only by the appended claims and not by the embodiments described hereinabove. Accordingly, reference should be made to the following claims in determining the true spirit of the invention.
