Description

(No Model.)
I. 0. YORK.
LINE PROTECTOR FOR VEHIGLES. No. 363,715. v Patented May 24, 1887.
IL WITNESSgS: I INVENTOR: flw JM WW 6 v BY mm A M ATTORNEYS.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK OQYORK, OF SALINA, KANSAS.
LINE-PROTECTOR FOR VEHICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 363,715, dated May 24, 1887.
Application filed September 1, 886. Serial No. 212,415. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANK O. YORK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Salina, in the county of Saline, in the State of Kansas, have invented an Improvement in Ferrules on the Ends .of Thills of Buggies and other Vehicles, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in ferrules used on the ends of thills of buggies and other vehicles.
The object of my invention is to prevent the lines of the harness in driving from being caught under the ends of the thills. The manner of overcoming this difficulty is illustrated in the following description of my newly-invented line-protector, reference being had by figures and letters to the accompanying draw- 1ng. I
The figure is a plan view of the front ends of the thills.
G G are the thills of the vehicle.
A A are metallic ferrules on the ends of the thills, which are formed with or provided with side loops, B B.
D D is a leather strap, made in one or two pieces and attached to the loops B by snaphooks I.
F is the breastcollar; H, a leather strap attached to the breast-collar and fastened to the strap or straps D by the buckle G. This attachment may be adjusted to fit any horse by lengthening or shortening the straps D D.
I do not claim, broadly, astrap for connecting the ends of the thills, as this has been before used; but,
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is- The combination, with the thill-ferrules having loops B B, of the strap or straps D D, having snap-hooks at their ends, and a buckle for connecting said strap or straps to the collar, substantially as shown and described.
FRANK G. YORK.
