7 ATTORNEY lFllRlECRACKER HOLDER-THRUWER DEVHCE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention This invention relates to the safe handling, shooting or throwing, of firecrackers and is particularly useful for the safe supervision of the indulgence in this operation by children.
2. Description of the Prior Art It is recognized that firecrackers and other fireworks device constitute a menace to the health and safety ofchildren. These exploding devices are normally placed, lit and exploded; or, thrown after being lit. Too often the explode before being thrown, causing severe injuries.
The present invention will not only protect the operator thereof from the harmful effects of the explosion, but will encourage its use in that it can be used as a thrower. This would give even further protection for the reason that the firecracker would be thrown into the air where its effect would be even less harmful.
SUMMARY OF THE lNVENTlON The present invention comprises a safety device comprising an explosiomproof holder for firecrackers, said holder having an open end and a closed end, said closed end being attached to one end ofa rod of suitable length for the safe discharge of a firecracker, said open end of said holder being adapted to receive a firecracker which is placed in said holder. One embodiment of the present invention comprises the explosionproof holder having mounted therein, projecting upwardly from the closed bottom thereof, a sharp point, whereby the firecracker can be mounted on aid point.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The invention will be more readily understood from a read ing of the following specification and by reference to the accompanying drawings herein an example of the invention is shown, and wherein:
In the FIGURE, a capped tube l is tapped to receive a threaded rod 4} ground to a needlepoint 2 as a holder for the firecracker. The threaded 3 portion of the rod 41 is placed through the closed end of tube 1, while the opposite end 5 of the rod 4!, either threaded or pressed], is inserted into the handle ti, that may be formed from metal, plastic or other suitable material.
Referring again to the FIG, the firecracker may be shoved into the metal tube 11 and impaled on the point 2. The metal tube 1 should be sufficiently strong and of sufficient length to give complete protection to the holder or thrower, from the explosion of the firecracker. The rod t may be varied as to length and of metallic material for strength but sufficiently long to furnish leverage in the event the operator desires to throw the firecracker.
The end 5 or rod 41 should be firmly embedded, threaded; pressed or welded into handle 6. The handle 6 may be made of a rigid material such as plastic, metal, wood or other suitable material.
I claim:
l. A safety device comprising a tubular-shaped holder for firecrackers, said holder being of sufficient strength to withstand the force of the firecracker explosion, said holder having an open end and a closed end, said closed end being attached to one end of a rod of suitable length for the safe discharge of a firecracker, said holder having projecting upwardly from the closed bottom thereof a sharp point, whereby the firecrackers can be mounted on said point, said open end of said holder being adapted to receive a firecracker which is placed in said holder, the opposite end of the rod on which said holder is mounted having a handle, whereby the user of the device can extend the holder away from his body and throw the firecracker from said holder.

Claims (1)

1. A safety device comprising a tubular-shaped holder for firecrackers, said holder being of sufficient strength to withstand the force of the firecracker explosion, said holder having an open end and a closed end, said closed end being attached to one end of a rod of suitable length for the safe discharge of a firecracker, said holder having projecting upwardly from the closed bottom thereof a sharp point, whereby the firecrackers can be mounted on said point, said open end of said holdEr being adapted to receive a firecracker which is placed in said holder, the opposite end of the rod on which said holder is mounted having a handle, whereby the user of the device can extend the holder away from his body and throw the firecracker from said holder.
