Cl. 297-188 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A portable foldable chair is provided with a seat having therein a hollow thermally insulated container with means to introduce hot or cold liquids therein as well as means to dispense liquids therefrom.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION My invention is particularly useful to spectators at athletic contests and the like particularly when such spectators have to sit at some distance from an aisle and have to struggle through rows of spectators in order to obtain a drink of hot or cold liquid.

In my invention, a foldable portable chair is provided with a cushioned seat containing a thermally insulated container having inlet and outlet ports. Hot or cold liquid can be introduced to the container via the inlet port which can then be sealed with a removable filler cap. Dispensing means secured to the outlet port enables the user of the seat, or others, to obtain a drink of hot or cold liquid without leaving the seat.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now to FIGS. 1-6, a flat square horizontal base 10 of plywood or the like has a hollow square horizontally extending thermally insulated container 12 disposed thereontop and secured thereto. The fiat surfaces of the container are reinforced as shown to prevent collapse when sat upon. A foam rubber cushion 14 is disposed on top of the container and is secured thereto.

The rear edge of the container has an inlet port 16 sealed by removable fill cap 18. The front edge of container and cushion are both cut away to form a recess 20 in which a one way dispensing valve 22 is disposed and is connected to an outlet port 24 in the container.

3,560,047 Patented Feb. 2, 1971 ICC The valve has a spigot or dispensing arm 26 which has a storage position fully within the recess and which can be manually swung out of the recess, pivotally, for

dispensing. 5 A back 28 is hingedly secured as shown at 30 to base 10 whereby the back can extend upward from the base for use or can be folded upon the cushion for storage.

In use, the base can rest on a stadium support plank 32 or the like and a wire hook 34 can detachably secure the base to the plank.

All of the components, i.e. the base, container for liquids, and the foam cushion can be bound together with a suitable upholstery material which can be secured to the base by gluing, stapling, tacking or the like.

While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.

Having thus described this invention what is asserted as new is:

1. A portable foldable chair comprising:

a seat;

a hollow thermally insulated container disposed in said seat and having inlet and outlet ports, said container being adapted to receive hot or cold liquids;

first means cooperating with said inlet port for filling said container with liquid; and

second means cooperating with said outlet port for removing liquid from said container.

2. A chair as set forth in claim 1 wherein said second means is a manually operable one way valve.

3. A chair as set forth in claim 2 wherein said seat has a front edge with a recess in which said valve is disposed.

4. A chair as set forth in claim 3 wherein said valve has a spigot which can be manually pivoted between a storage position at which said spigot is disposed within the recess and a use position at which the spigot extends out of the recess.

5. A chair as set forth in claim 4 wherein said first means is a filler cap accessible from the rear of said seat.
