DESCRlPTlON or THE PREFERRED e aoo ME sr By referring to the drawings and 'FlG: l. in particular, a motor route tube or newspaper delivery tube'may beseen in position on its side with respect to its normal upright position in use. The motor route tube comprises a cross-.sectionally i I rectangular tubular member 10 having an open end 11 and a closed end 12. The normal bottom portion of the motor route tube 10 is generally indicated by the, numeral 13 and includes drainage apertures 14 and alcentrally disposed ribbed portion 15 throughwhicha central aperture 16 extends. A plurality of cross-sectionally circular projecting members "are integrally formedwith a ribbed portion .15 and the]. bottom 13 of the r route tube and these preferably are hollow throughout a portion of their extending length so as to impart a degree of resiliency thereto. In FIG. 3- 0f thedrawings', the bottom'portion-lli of the routetube 10, will be seen to havea longitudinal raised rib 24 therein. This is one of a pair of such ribs that are formed in the bottom of the tube to support a newspaper in elevated relation to the actual inner bottom surface to prevent water damage and these ribs automatically provide clearance between the newspaper positioned in the tube and the head of a nut and bolt assembly positioned through the registering openings 16 and 23as heretofore referred to.
The above described structure provides relatively easy and .fast attachment of the L-shaped mounting bracket 20 the motor route tube and insures the accurate and dependable positioning of the L-shaped bracket relative thereto. The bracket itself is then attached to a supporting metal fence post or stake as common in the art by means such as U-bolt (not showniandthe construction thus considerably expedites the installation of a-mot'or route tube and at the, same time results in a-structurally improved motor route tube construction.
Although but one embodimentof the present inventionhas been illustrated and described, it will be apparent to those a skilled in the art that various changes and modifications'may be made therein without departing from thespirit of the inven- Still referring to FIG. l of the drawings, it will be seen that an L-shaped mounting bracket generallyindicated by the numeral 20 is disclosed. and that it includes flanges 21 on its lon-' gitudinal edgesand that one portion thereof has 'a plurality of openings 22 located for registry over-the projecting members 17 on the route tube. A central opening 23 registers with the central opening 16 in the'ribbed portion 15 and provides for the positioning of a nut andbolt assembly which secures the comprising:

a. a tubular elongate body; b. integral reinforcing and mounting means on an outer surface of said tubular body, said reinforcing and mounting means including a pair of spaced'guide flanges integral with said tubular body and extending from said surface for reinforcing said body, a plurality of pins integral with said body and projecting from said surface between said through said body for receiving a bolt extended through said bracket and said body so that said body and bracket may be quickly and easily secured together in a rigid and accurate manner with only one bolt.
2. A newspaper delivery tube as in claim 1, wherein said flanges extend from said body at right angles and abutments are provided between said flanges and said surface on the opposite side of said flanges from said pins.

Claims (2)

1. A newspaper delivery tube for the deposit of newspapers and the like having integral reinforcing and mounting means, comprising: a. a tubular elongate body; b. integral reinforcing and mounting means on an outer surface of said tubular body, said reinforcing and mounting means including a pair of spaced guide flanges integral with said tubular body and extending from said surface for reinforcing said body, a plurality of pins integral with said body and projecting from said surface between said flanges, a boltreceiving opening in said body through said surface between said flanges, bracket means cooperating with said mounting means, said bracket means having opposite side edges closely received between said spaced flanges and a plurality of openings therethrough in which are received said pins to securely hold said bracket to said body in a predetermined orientation, and a bolt receiving opening through said bracket means in alignment with said bolt receiving opening through said body for receiving a bolt extended through said bracket and said body so that said body and bracket may be quickly and easily secured together in a rigid and accurate manner with only one bolt.
2. A newspaper delivery tube as in claim 1, wherein said flanges extend from said body at right angles and abutments are provided between said flanges and said surface on the opposite side of said flanges from said pins.
