rQfhis invention relates to improvements in milk bottle holders,
The object of this invention is the provik sion of a device which may be secured on the exterior of a building, house or the like and is so constructed as to support milk bottles to prevent the same from being placed on the door step, in the vestibule or upon the ground where it is liable to be destroyed or ruined by animals, such as dogs, cats or the like.
Another object of this invention is the provision of a milk bottle holder of this character, which may be so secured 'to a support to be in handy reach of the. dairymen and support a. full bottle therein to obviate the necessity of placing the same on the door step or in the vestibule, thus eliminating fear of the same being knocked over or otherwise destroyed.
A further object of this invention is the provision'of a milk bottle holder of this character, which will be simple, durable and efficient, and which will be comparativelyinexpensive in construction, and one that can be manufactured and sold at a low cost.
With these and other objects in View, the invention consists of the novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described and set forth in the claims appended.

Like numeral of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawings.
Referring more particularly to the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates a supporting late in its entirety, and it is constructed of suitable heavy material, such as tin, metal or the like, and it comprises a` rectangular body 2 having a lower tapered end 3. The tapered end is provided centrally of its side longitudinal edges with an opening 4, through which is adapted to extend a fas tening member, such as a screw or the like for assisting in securing the plate 1 to a support. rfhe upper end of the plate 2 is provided near its opposite sides with `0penings 5, through which are adapted to eX- tend, suitable fastening means, such las screws or the like for rigidly supporting the plate 1 in position to a wall or other support.
The body 2 ofthe `plate 1 is provided adjacent its upper end and centrally of its side longitudinal edges with a transversely extending opening 6, the vpurpose of which will be hereinafter more fully described.
A bottle supporting member 9 formed of any suitable heavy material, such as tin or the like comprises a rectangular top member 10, which has its opposite side longitudinal edges bent downwardly to provide guide flanges 11. The guide flanges 11 are arranged at right angles to the top member 10, and have their lower edges bent inwardly towards one another to define horizontal supporting flanges 12, the supporting flanges 12 are parallel with and located in spaced relation to the top member 10, and the extreme inner ends of the supporting flanges 12 are bent upwardly to define retaining flanges 13, the upper edges of the retaining flanges being` curved inwardly and bent back upon themselves as at 14 and eX- tended outwardly as at 15 and rest upon the upper sides of the horizontal supporting flanges 12. The outwardly extending portions 15 reinforce the retaining flanges 13 so as to provide a suflieient support which will reliably support a milk bottle when the bead of the bottle is arranged on the curved portions of the flanges and located under the under side of the top` 10.
The bottle supporting member 9 has one end positioned within the transversely eX tending opening 6 and is arrangedcto be inclined slightly upwardly therein, so that a bottle may be readily positioned upon the retaining flanges of the supporting member.
An angle bracket 16 is secured by its vertical flange to the front face of the plate 1 and is located above the opening 6, thus positioning its horizontal flanged-17 an-r gularly to the plate 1. The vertical flange ofthe bracket is secured to the face of the plate by suitable fastening membersl 18, such as rivets, `screws or the like. The horizontal flange is secured to the outer side of the top memberA 10 by suitable rivets` 19, thus securely supporting the bottle member 9 within the opening 6 of the plate 1.
A pair of angle brackets 20 are secured by their vertical flanges 21 to the face of ings. g
The device is assembled as follows: The
f supporting plate is secured to a wall or vso other` suitable support by the fastening means which are arranged to extend through the openings t and 5 in the plate 1; the bottle holder 9 is arranged in the opening 6 and is inclined upwardly from its point of connection with the plate 1 so thata bottle placed within the supporting member cannot be accidentally knocked therefrom.
l/Vhat is claimed is:
1. A milk bottle holder comprising a supporting plate, means for securing the plate I to a support, said plate provided adjacent its upper end, centrally of its side longiH tudinal edges with anv opening, a bottle supporting member comprising a rectangular Aplatehaving its opposite side longitudinal edges bent downwardly aat right angles thereto, supporting-'flanges formed integrally with said sideV edges of the top plate, and in spaced relation thereto, retaining and bottle supporting flanges formed integrally with the extreme ends of supporting flanges, and means for securing the bottle supporting member in the opening of the supporting plate.
2. A bottle holder comprising a plate having downwardly extending sides, flanges extending inwardly from said sides, said flanges being spaced apart and at their free terminals being spaced from the main por tion' of the plate to facilitate reception of a bottle, and bottle retaining `flanges extending upwardly from said flanges and then outwardly and over said flanges.
