INVENTOR Judd'ble ing soiling, glazing, hardening or discoloration of .the makeup.
A cellophane disc is commonly supplied when a compacti's purchased for purpose of separating the applicator from the makeup. However, this separator is unattached and is normally thrown after first use. 1
The object of this invention is to provide a compact having a permanently attached separator disc which may be conveniently used and manufactured.
Other advantages of this invention 'will become apparent from the more detailed description which follows. The accom- The separator element 4 of the preferred embodiment is v constructed of plastic and cut or stamped out of a single sheet.
The element 4 is made up of an anchor disc 5 and separator I disc 6 which are joined by a hinge 7. The anchor discS is is secured to the interior of the base 1 after which the pressed powder cake 3 is put in its place over the anchor disc 5 in base 1. It can readily be observed that the separator disc 6 can now be pivoted over the powder cake 3 to its protective position. The powder puff 8 would be placed on top of the separator disc 6 and is thereby kept separated from the makeup. To use the makeup, the separator disc ismerely pivoted conveniently away from the powder cake. After the application of the makeup powder, the separator disc is returned to the original protective position on top of the powder cake.
This simple design provides a convenient permanently at- I tached separator which may be manufactured efficiently and simply in large numbers. The separator element may be variety of shapes, sizes and materials.
