SHOE-Box LABEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N o. 354,89,dated December 28, 188.6.
Application filed September 20, 1886. Serial No. 213,993. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIMON GOODMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton,
yin the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented a certain Vnew and useful Improvement in Shoe-Box Labels; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this speciiication.
vMy invention relates to Aimprovements in shoe-box labels; and it consists of a label with suitable marks and an indicator held to the box by a knob, said indicator being so attached that it is turned by the said knob.
E is a paper label, which may haveanyform of exterior, and has a central orifice by which, with the aid of the knob D, it is held to the box. On this label is marked the quality, size, and price, or other desirable matter.
C is a paper indicator, its chief use being to show whether the box contains a pair of shoes or not, and on it may be marked the kind of leather of which the contained shoes are manufactured. When in. a vertical position, it in- 4o dicates that the box contains a pair of shoes.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- Y A shoe-box label composed of knob B, with pin in its shoulder to engage the indicator C, held on the shaft of said knob, the label E,like wise held on said shaft, abutting said indicator, and combinedwith a shoe-box, substantially as shown and described.
