Application filed August 9, 1886.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I,HENRY A. .ARNDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pen nsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Preparations for Cleaning and Polishing Metals, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification.
In carrying out my invention I take five ounces of oxalic acid, ten ounces ofrottenstone, two ounces of tartaric acid, three-fourths of an ounce of table-salt, and one gallon of Water, all well mixed together, but the proportions may be changed, as desired.
The preparation or compound may be bottled, and when it is required for use the bottle is well shaken and some of the preparation Serial No. 210,454. (No specimens.)
' then poured upon a woolen rag and the metal then rubbed with the same, after which it is brushed and permitted to dry, the result being a surface which is clean and bright, and possessing a durable polish.
Having thus described rnyinvention, what I Patent, is
A composition of matter consisting of oxalic acid, rotten-stone, tartaric acid, table-salt, and
polishing metals, as stated.
