(Cl. 2-239) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disposable footwear comprises a foot cover of disposable material having a toe portion, a heel portion, an ankle portion and a lower leg portion. Each of the portions have perforations therein in a predetermined pattern to facilitate an alteration of the form of the footwear. The toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer to facilitate separating the toe portion between the large toe and the remaining toes. The heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending substantially around the heel of the wearer to facilitate removal of substantially the heel portion. The ankle portion is adapted to cover the ankle of a foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending around the under part of the ankle of the wearer to facilitate removal of the ankle portion and the lower leg portion from the remainder of the footwear. Perforations extend substantially linearly along the back of the foot of the wearer from the heel portion to the top of the lower leg portion to facilitate separating the heel, ankle and lower leg portions along the back of the footwear. The lower leg portion is adapted to cover the lower leg of the wearer and has perforations therein extending around the lower leg of the wearer in spaced rings to facilitate removal of substantially cylindrical parts of the lower leg portion of the footwear.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION (A) Field of the invention The present invention relates to disposable footwear. More particularly, the invention relates to disposable footwear of readily alterable form.
Summary of the invention The principal object of the present invention is to provide new and improved disposable footwear. The disposable footwear of the present invention may be readily alterable in form in addition to having all the advantages of disposable footwear and of paper footwear. The toe portion of the footwear may be separated with facility and rapidity between the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer to facilitate the placing of a strap, member, or the like, of a thong, sandal, or the like, between such large toe and such remaining toes without tearing the footwear. The heel portion of the footwear may be removed with facility and rapidity to permit the foot of the wearer to have an open heel while the rest of such foot is covered. The ankle portion and the lower leg portion of the footwear may be removed from the remainder of the footwear to provide the wearer with a ped, moccasin or slipper type foot cover which covers the foot of the wearer only to below the ankle or lower. The heel, ankle and lower leg portions of the footwear may be separated along the back of the footwear with facility and rapidity to facilitate putting on and taking off such footwear. Parts of the lower leg portion of the footwear may be removed with facility and "ice rapidity to provide the foot of the wearer with an anklet or sock which extends to different desired lengths above the ankle.
In accordance with the present invention, disposable footwear comprises a foot cover of disposable material having a toe portion, a heel portion, an ankle portion and a lower leg portion. Each of the portions has perforations therein in a predetermined pattern to facilitate an alteration of the form of the footwear. The toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer thereby facilitating separating the toe portion between the large toe and the remaining toes. The heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending substantially around the heel of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of substantially the heel portion. The ankle portion is adapted to cover the ankle of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending around the under part of the ankle of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of the ankle portion and the lower leg portion from the remainder of the footwear. The heel portion, the ankle portion and the lower leg portion have perforations therein extending substantially linearly along the back of the foot of the wearer from the heel portion to the top of the lower leg portion thereby facilitating separating the heel, ankle and lower leg portions along the back of the footwear. The lower leg portion is adapted to cover a lower leg of a wearer and has perforations therein extending around the lower leg of the wearer in spaced rings thereby facilitating removal of substantially cylindrical parts of the lower leg portion of the footwear.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT In the figures, the same components are identified by the same reference numerals.
The disposable footwear of the present invention is a foot cover in the form of a sock or anklet of disposable material such as, for example, paper. The footwear has a toe portion 11, a heel portion 12, an ankle portion 13 and a lower leg portion 14. Each of the portions has perforations therein in a predetermined pattern to facilitate an alteration of the form of the footwear.
The toe portion 11 is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer. The toe portion 11 has toe strap perforations 15 therein (FIGS. 1, 3, 4 and 5) which extend between and separate the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer. The toe strap perforations 15 en-' able the toe portion 11 to be torn along the pattern of said perforations with facility and rapidity to separate said toe portion between the large toe and the remaining toes of the foot of the wearer. The separation of the toe portion 11 along the toe strap perforations 15 facilitates the placing of a strap, member, thong, and, or the like, of a thong, sandal, or the like, between the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer without tearing the footwear.
The heel portion 12 is adapted to cover the heel of a foot of the wearer. The heel portion 12 has heel perforations 16, 17, 18 and 19 (not shown in the figures) therein which extend substantially around the heel of the foot of the wearer (FIGS. 1, 2 and 3). The heel perforations 16, 17, 18 and 19 enable the heel portion 12 to be removed with facility and rapidity by tearing along the pattern of the perforations 18, 16 and 19 or along the pattern of the perforations 17, 18, 16 and 19. The removal of the heel portion 12 by tearing along the perforations 18, 16 and 19 permits the foot of the wearer to have a completely open heel without a heel bottom strip while the rest of said foot is covered. The removal of the heel portion 12 by tearing along the perforations 17, 18, 16 and 19 permits the foot of the wearer to have an open heel with a heel bottom strip 21 while the rest of the foot is covered.
The ankle portion 13 is adapted to cover the ankle of a foot of the wearer. The ankle portion 13 has ankle perforation 22 therein (FIG. 1) which extend around the under part of the ankle of the foot of the wearer. The ankle perforations 22 enable the removal of the ankle portion 13 and the lower leg portion 14 from the remainder of the footwear with facility and rapidity by tearing along the pattern of the perforations 22. The removal of the ankle portion 13 .and the lower leg portion 14 provides the wearer with a ped, moccasin or slipper type foot cover 23 which covers the foot of the wearer only to below the ankle or lower. The ped. moccasin, slipper, or the like 23 is shown in FIG. 3 in its severed condition for utilization as an article of footwear.
The lower leg portion 14 is adapted to cover a lower leg of the wearer above the ankle or, more specifically, from the ankle perforations 22 to a length of an anklet or sock. The lower leg portion 14 has perforations 24 and 25 therein (FIG. 1) which extend around the lower leg of the wearer. The perforations 24 function as short length perforations and are in a ring around the lower leg of the wearer above the ankle. The perforations 25 function as intermediate length perforations and are in a ring around the lower leg of the wearer spaced from the short length perforations 24 and from the open edge 26 of the footwear.
The short length perforations 24 enable the removal of the lower leg portion 14 above said perforations from the remainder of the footwear with facility and rapidity by tearing along the pattern of said perforations. The removal of the lower leg portion 14 above the perforations 24 provides the wearer with a sock or anklet which opens at said perforations and which therefore extends to only shortly above the ankle of the foot of the wearer. The removed part 27 of the lower leg portion 14 is of substantially cylindrical configuration.
The intermediate length perforations 25 enable the removal of the lower leg portion 14 above said perforations from the remainder of the footwear with facility and rapidity by tearing along the pattern of said perforations. The removal of the lower leg portion 14 above the perforations 25 provides the wearer with a sock or anklet which opens at said perforations and which therefore extends to an inter-mediate length above the ankle of the foot of the wearer. The removed part 28 of the lower leg portion 14 is of substantially cylindrical configuration.
Any suitable number of rings of perforations may be provided in the lower leg portion 14 at any desired spaces from each other to provide any desired number of selectable sock lengths above the ankle.
Back perforations 29 are provided in the footwear (FIGS. 1, 2 and 3) in a substantially linear extension along the back of a foot and lower leg of the wearer from the heel portion 12 to the top or open edge 26 of the lower leg portion 14 of said footwear. The back perforations 29 extend through part of the heel portion 12 and through the entire length of the ankle portion 13 and the entire length of the lower leg portion 14. The back perforations 29 enable the back of the footwear to be torn along the pattern of said perforations with facility and rapidity to any desired extent from the open edge 26 of said footwear to vary the opening of said footwear to facilitate putting on and taking off said footwear by accommodating different sizes of feet.
Any desired number of ventilating holes such as, for example, the holes 31, may be formed through the footwear in any desired portion or portions thereof. The ventilating holes provide foot and/ or lower leg ventilation.
While the invention has been described by means of specific examples and in a specific embodiment, I do not wish to be limited thereto, for obvious modifications will occur to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
What I claim is:
1. Disposable footwear, comprising a foot cover of disposable material having a toe portion, a heel portion, an ankle portion and a lower leg portion, each of said portions having perforations therein in a predetermined pattern to facilitate an alteration of the form of said footwear.
2. Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the foot of the wearer thereby facilitating separating said toe portion between said large toe and said retrnaining toes.
3. Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending substantially around the heel of the foot of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of substantially said heel portion.
4. Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said ankle portion is adapted to cover the ankle of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending around the under part of the ankle of the foot of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of said ankle portion and said lower leg portion from the remainder of said footwear.
5. Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heel portion, said ankle portion and said lower leg portion are adapted to cover the heel of a foot of a wearer, the ankle of the foot of the wearer and the lower leg of the wearer, respectively, and have perforations therein extending substantially linearly along the back of the foot of the wearer from said heel portion to the top of said lower leg portion thereby facilitating separating said heel, ankle and lower leg portions along the back of said footwear.

Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said lower leg portion is adapted to cover a lower leg of a wearer and has perforations therein extending around the lower leg of the wearer in spaced rings thereby facilitating removal of substantially cylindrical parts of the lower leg portion of said footwear.

Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer thereby facilitating separating said toe portion between said large toe and said remaining toes and said heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending substantially around the heel of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of substantially said heel portion.

Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the foot of the wearer thereby facilitating separating said toe portion between said large toe and said remaining toes and said heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending substantially around the heel of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of substantially said heel portion and said ankle portion is adapted to cover the ankle of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending around the under part of the ankle of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of said ankle portion and said lower leg portion from the remainder of said footwear.

Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer thereby facilitating separating said toe portion between said large toe and said remaining toes and said heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending substantially around the heel of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of substantially said heel portion and said ankle portion is adapted to cover the ankle of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending around the under part of the ankle of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of said ankle portion and said lower leg portion from the remainder of said footwear and wherein said heel portion, said ankle portion and said lower leg portion are adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer, the ankle of the foot of the wearer and the lower leg of the wearer, respectively, and have perforations therein extending substantially linearly along the back of the foot of the wearer from said heel portion to the top of said lower leg portion thereby facilitating separating said heel, ankle and lower leg portions along the back of said footwear.
10. Disposable footwear as claimed in claim 1, wherein said toe portion is adapted to cover the five toes of a foot of a wearer and has perforations therein extending between and separating the large toe and the remaining toes of the wearer thereby facilitating separating said toe portion between said large toe and said remaining toes and said heel portion is adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer and has perforations 5 therein extending substantially around the heel of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of substantially said heel portion and said ankle portion is adapted to cover the ankle of the foot of the wearer and has perforations therein extending around the under part of the ankle of the wearer thereby facilitating removal of said ankle portion and said lower leg portion from the remainder of said footwear and wherein said heel portion, said ankle portion and said lower leg portion are adapted to cover the heel of the foot of the wearer, the ankle of the foot of the wearer and the lower leg of the wearer, respectively, and have perforations therein extending substantially linearly along the back of the foot of the wearer from said heel portion to the top of said lower leg portion thereby facilitating separating said heel, ankle and lower leg portions along the back of said footwear and said lower leg portion is "adapted to cover the lower leg of the wearer and has perforations therein extending around the lower leg of the wearer in spaced rings thereby facilitating removal of substantially cylindrical parts of the lower leg portion of said footwear.
