SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 338,371, dated March 23, 1886.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SERELL TAYLOR, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stallion-Testicle Supports, of which the following, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a stallion testicle support. Fig. 2 is a detail view of one of the front corners of the same, partly broken away in order to more clearly show certain details of con struction; and Fig. 3 is a detail view, the same being a top view of the rear portion of the pouch.

Like letters of reference indicate like parts.

My invention relates to that class of goods known as testicle-supports for stallions. An example of goods of this class is shown and described in Letters Patent of the United States of America, No. 288,261, dated March 1, 1881, and granted to me for improvements therein set forth. The article shown and described in the said Letters Patent has a perforated rubber pouch, connected with fastenings in such a manner as not to admit of a worn or injured pouch being detached from the fastenings and of another or new one being supplied in its place with facility.

The principal purpose of my present invention is to so construct the support that a pouch may be readily removed and another supplied in its place. I also aim to improve the support in other rcspects,as will hereinafter more fully appear.

A represents a pouch or sack consisting of a net-like or open part, a, made, by preference, of rubber, or other like or suitable material. Along the lateral portions of this netlike part are tubular parts or edge-pieces a a, meeting at the rear end of the pouch, and connected at the front end by a cross-piece, a. These edge-pieces and the netting are of such form and dimensions as to render the net-like part slack, loose, or pouch-like, as is indicated in Fig. 1.

B B are connecting -pieces, consisting of non-elastic cords or thongs coated with rubher and passing through the tubular partsaa. These cords meet each other, and extend for some way in their united conditions, as ind1- cated at b, then separate and form a loop, 0, to receive the tail of the animal.

To the loop a, I attach a strap, d, to admit of the pouch being properly supported at lts rear end by fastening the strap d to the backstrap or other part of the harness. 1

To the forward part of the cords B, I apply straps O C and buckles D D, to permit the said cords to be connected suitably to the harness, so as to support the forward end of the pouch.

It will be perceived from the foregoing description, and from reference to the drawings, that the support may be properly applied and removed with facility; also, that the pouch A, when it becomes soiled, injured, or worn. may be easily removed and a new one applied by detaching the straps O G and their buckles from the cords B B, the pouch then being capable of being drawn off from the cords B B, and the latter being capable of being inserted into the tubular edges of the pouch to be applied in the place of the one removed. It will also be perceived that the cords B B, though coated with rubber, will be non-elastic, and hence that the lateral edges of the pouch, when applied thereto,will not be stretched. This non-elasticity of the sides of the pouch and of the cords B B has the advantage of holding the pouch firmly in its place after it has been once properly adjusted, and to some extent prevents friction, attrition, and abrasion.

By coating the non-elastic parts of the, cords B B with rubber, they are rendered impervious to moisture and perspiration, and

may be easily kept clean, besides being ren dered durable.
