S12- 244) ABSTRACT F THE DISCLOSURE A cabinet of molded structural pieces forming a configuration by molding having forwardly and downwardly inclined shelving with strengthening ridges transversely disposed throughout with a lower lip extending upwardly at the front thereof, a tubular handle extending from the upper distal ends thereof, a door pivotally hingedfrom the bottom of the front of the frame, a transparent material disposed throughout the back wall, and a `lock disposed to lock the door when the frame construction is closed with the door.

The present invention relates to a caddy cabinet constructed for carrying tools, various articles, work cornponents and relating devices for servicing equipment and alike, and -more particularly the invention relates to an improved space cabinet for carrying tools, work cornponents, and such items that may be used when servicing other units.

An object therefore of the present invention is to provide a preformed molded framed cabinet, having a front door hinged at the bottom for swinging downwardly to open into a cavity therein, the frame being of trapezoidal configuration, and having shelving to accommodate parts for servicing other units.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a caddy cabinet having an easily accessible carrying handle, and in which there are provided inclined shelves with an upwardly extending lip for displaying and -carrying light repair parts. A further object of the present invention is to provide a caddy cabinet including inclined shelving so that the light or small parts being carried generally roll or slide to the front of the shelving, but are retained thereof by the modestly inclined upwardly extending lip.

The above and other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent upon full consideration of the following detailed description and accompanying drawings in which:

FIGURE 1 is a front elevation view, a part thereof being broken away, showing the various features and structural components of the invention according to a preferred embodiment thereof;

FIGURE 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along lines 2 2 of FIGURE l; and

FIGURE 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a broken away section of such cross-section taken along lines 3 3 of FIGURE 2.

Referring now to the invention as shown in the drawings, there is shown a caddy cabinet having a pair of end walls 12, 12, a bottom wall 14, a back wall 16, and a top wall member 18 all substantially integrally formed from a single piece, or. a pair of interfitting set of pieces, wherein the elements 14, 16 and 18, comprise a single ICC piece while the side walls 12, 12 are of single pieces. 20, 20. The entire construction may be made of molded metal, sheet aluminum, or of any of the synthetic rubber or plastic heat formable materials that are well known such as PVC plastic, Teflon material, and other modern materials.

In the back wall 16, there are disposed a plurality of transparent sections or windows 24 provided for allowing the interior of the caddy cabinet to be visibly illuminated for practical purposes.

28, 30, 32 are inclined forwardly as shown, so that parts disposed on such shelves are inclined to roll forward toward a door 40, but the parts do not fall off of the

28, 30, 32 since there is provided a generally upwardly extending molded lip element 42, 44, 46 respectively on each of the shelves and in this way the objects and advantages of the present invention, among others, are realized.

The door 40 is pivotally connected by a hinge 50 at the bottom of the door 40 to connect with a projection of the bottom wall 14. As is seen in the various figures, including FIGURES 1 and 2, thereare ridged projections S6, 58, 60, to separate transversely one portion of the shelves from other portions thereof, and thus provide adequate and substantial compartmentation of the shelving for retention of various small parts.

The door 40 may be locked in position by a catch or lock element 64 by means of turning it so that it is engagedly locked with a projection 66 of the top wall 18.

56, 58, 60 provide also a stiffening structure forming each of the 28, 30, 32, shelving, as well as the bottom wall 14 so that the device of the invention is sturdy and offers substantial strength as well as lenghtening of life for the purposes to which the cabinet is suited. The flanged or upwardly extending lips 42, 44, 46 also provide strengthening features to the shelves and each of the ends of the shelves are received in apertures adapted therefor of end pieces 12, 12, the shelves alternatively may be molded integral with the other components.

Additional embodiments of the invention in this specification will occur to others and therefore it is intended that the scope of the invention be limited only by the appended claim and not by the embodiment described hereinabove. Accordingly, reference should be made to the following claim in determining the full scope of the invention.

What is claimed is:
