No. 327,400. Patented Sept. 29, 1885.

JWVEJVTOR AZKM . UNITED STATES CHARLES L. LINNEY, OF DANVILLE,
PATENT OFFICE.
KENTUCKY, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO E. B. LINNEY AND T. E. LINNEY, OF SAME PLACE, AND J. S. LINNEY,
OF OSOEOLA, MISSOURI.
TOY BUBBLE-BLOWER.-
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 327,400, dated September 29,1885.
Application filed April 4, 1885. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, CHARLES L. LINNEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Danville, in the county of Boyle and State of Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toy Bubble-Blowers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
IO My invention relates to improvements in toybubhle-blowers, and is designed to produce a blower that will form an indefinite number of bubbles from one filling, either large or small, as desired.
r 5 The improvement consists, essentially, in
the form and combination of the parts.
In describing the device reference is had to the annexed drawings, in which Figure 1 rep resents a side elevation of the device, and Fig.
2 a longitudinal section thereof.
The bowl A is concaved 011 top at B, and may be somewhat longer than those used-for tobacco-pipes. The lower and smaller end is also concaved, as shown at O. A stem, D, is
provided, and is inserted in the side of the bowl in a short passage that leads to the interior of the said bowl. The said interior is large enough at the upper end to receive a short hollow stem, E, projecting from a flexible reservoir, E, which normally rests in the concave B. The lower end of the bowl has a small orifice, G, communicating with the interior of the bowl, and is also provided with a removable ring or sleeve, H, which has a tapered passage through it, so as to fit the end of the bowl. The lower side of the ring is ooncaved.
The bowl may be of various sizes and shapes.
By filling the reservoir with aliquid adapted to the purpose, and placing it on top the bowl, and then gently pressing it the liquid will be forced in small quantities into the pipe. A gentle blowing through the stem will cause bubblesto form on the lower edge, small ones without and large ones with the ring.
I claim 1. A toy bubble-pipe having the end on which the bubbles are formed of comparatively small diameter, and having a supplementary ring or sleeve removably attached to said bubble end, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
2. A toy bubble-pipe having a'bowl large at one end and small at the other, and concaved at each end, provided with a flexible reservoir normally resting on the larger end, and having a supplementary concaveended ring or sleeve reniovably attached to the smaller end, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES L. LINNEY.
