1 Claim. (Cl. 2-464) The invention described herein may be manufactured and used by or for the Government for governmental purposes, without the payment to me of any royalty thereon. My invention relates to a partially insulated glove which will protect'the hands of the user in cold weather while permitting dexterous use of tools, implements and the like.
A primary object of my invention is to provide a glove which will adequately protect the wearers hands while permitting deft use of the hands and fingers.
Another object of my invention is to provide a glove which is partially insulated to provide protection against extreme cold with minimal interference to manual dexterity. 7
Other objects and advantages of my invention will be apparent during the course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application, and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same:
FIGURE 1 is a plan view of the front of a glove embodying the invention;
I numeral 10 indicates the glove generally'which comprises i a front portion 11 and a back portion 12 which are secured together by any suitable means such as stitching 13.
A single layer of insulating material, such as polyester batting 14, covers the back portion 12, the entire length of the back of the fingers 15 and the back of the thumb 16 as well as on the entire length of the sides of the fingers 15. A lining l7 covers the insulating material 14 and both are secured to the glove by stitching 18. The glove 10 is closed by a conventional slide fastener 19 and the strap 20. If desired, the frontyof the wristportion 21 may also be covered with insulating material 14.
It is to be understood that the form of the invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred embodiment of the same, and that various changes in the shape, size, and arrangement of parts may be resorted towithout departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the subjoined claim.
I claim:
A partially insulated glove to protect the hand of the user in cold weather While permitting dexterous use thereof comprising a front portion, a back portion, and fingers and a thumb, a single layer of polyester insulating material covering only the inner surface of said back portion, the back of said thumb, and the entire length of the back and side portions of said fingers, a lining covering said insulating material, and means securing said lining and said insulating matcrial to said glove.
