Be it known that I, ALMA B. COLE, of Kingston, De Kalb county, Illinois, have invented a new and Improved Wheel Guard, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of myinvention is to provide a new and improved wheel-guard for the purpose, of preventing personsbeing run over and 'killed or mutilated by the wheels of street or bent ends bolts are passed into the bottom of the car 0 for holding theguard on the car, the bottom edges of the guard being a short distance above the rails H. The top edges of the guard are curved downward and toward the rear.
The frame of the guard is covered wit sheet-metal E, riveted on the frame.
The .guard is directly in front of the wheel F, and surrounds part of the same.
In case a person falls on the tracks and any part of the body rests upon the rails, it will be struck bythe guard before the wheel F can run over it, and is pushed to one side.
The guard is very light and strong, and can easily be attached to any car.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A wheel-guard consisting of the metal frame A, having its top curved down toward the sheet-metal covering E, substantially as herein shownand described.
