Description

M. KELSEAUX 3, 76,317
DISPOSABLE WATER CLOSET BOWL LINERS Filed Dec. 6, 1963 7714M WAL INVENTOR.
United States Patent Filed Dec. 6, 1963, Ser. No. 328,543 4 Claims. (Cl. 4-4) My present invention relates to a disposable water closet bowl liner, the basic primary purpose of which is to protect the exposed surface of the interior walls of the water closet bowl covered by it from direct contact and soilage by fecal matter or other foreign material or extraneous matter, thereby affording greater sanitation and ease of cleaning; further benefits and advantages, if desired, being obtainable by the impregnation of the material of said liner with deodorant properties and/or antiseptic properties 'and/ or bleaching properties The embodiment of the liner consists of a sheet of paper, cellulose, plastic or other suitable material either impregnated or not impregnated with deodorant properties and/ or antiseptic properties and/ or bleaching properties which is disposable by the flushing action of the water closet and sequentially dispersable and decomposable by septic sewage action, of diverse shapes to fit neatly on the desired surface of the inner walls of the water closet bowl, each of these diverse shapes or designs having if desired, though not shown in the accompanying drawing, suflicient elongation of the front of the liner to extend upward and over the front center section of the toilet seat, covering said front center section, two examples of the diverse shapes or configurations being illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
The design of example (a) consists of a straight horizontal base and two convex arcs rising one at each end of the base and following the curvilinear contour of the upper border of the side and front walls of the water closet bowl and meeting at the vertex of the are formed by their course; the design of example (b) consists of a truncated triangle.
The drawing is a plan view showing by solid lines the two examples of designs (a) and (b) and below these two figures a cross-sectional view of the liner in place in the water closet bowl.
Using design example (b) as illustration, the proper position of the liner in place on the inner walls of the bowl is that of the two parallel ends of the liner lying crosswise of the bowl, the shorter end at the upper border Patented Apr. 6, 1965 of the front wall and the opposite longer end extending from the upper border of one side wall down that wall, across the lower section of the front wall and up the op posite side wall to the upper border of said opposite side wall.
It will be apparent that when in place in the water closet bowl the liner receives material deposited in the bowl, protecting the walls of the bowl covered by it from this direct contact, and upon the flushing action of the water closet is itself flushed down the drain, carrying the said deposited matter with it.
I claim as my invention:
1. A disposable water closet bowl liner comprising a sheet of material disposable by the flushing action of a water closet and sequentially dispersable and decomposable by septic sewage action, said liner being of such configuration and flexibility as to readily accommodate the interior surface wall of said closet bowl to thereby cover and protect said interior surface of said water closet bowl, said liner further characterized by a straight horizontal base and two convex arcs rising one at each end of the base and following the curvilinear contour of the upper border of the side and front walls of said water closet bowl and thereby meeting at the vertex of the are formed by their course.
2. A disposable closet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 wherein the front of said liner is of such elongation as to extend upward and over the front center section of the associated toilet seat.
3. A disposable water closet bowl liner as defined in claim 2 wherein said sheet of material is comprised of cellulose. m
4. A disposable water closet bowl liner as defined in claim 1 impregnated with a deodorant, an anti-septic and a bleaching agent.
