  • slidable die mounting members in the hereinbefore described punching apparatus facilitates the alignment of the punch and die members because the die member is not only movable laterally due to the oversize mounting holes therein, but the die member is movable vertically or toward and away from the punch member. Because the die mounting members and the attached die member can be easily removed from and returned to the die set without affecting the alignment of the punch and die members, it is a simple matter to ernploy dowel pins to insure positive alignment of the members during punching operations. Also with dowel bushings in the mounting members dowel pins can be used without alteration of the mounting members. The critical alignment of the punch and die members may be conveniently made after the punch and die holders are secured in the power press and just the die member and mounting members need be removed for the purpose of inserting dowel pins.
  • Simple punch and die members of substantially any conguration can be used in the illustrated embodiments, it being a simple matter of placing the fastening elements in the required locations in the punch holder and die mounting members to suit the various sizes and configurations.

No. 118,363 3 Claims. (Cl. 83-5S2) This invention relates to punching apparatus and more particularly to die sets adapted to accommodate complementary punch and die members.
Conventional punching apparatus is generally made by installing complementary punch and die members, and associated stripper means in standard commercially obtainable die sets. These die sets usually include a blank upper portion or punch holder and a blank lower portion or die holder, the punch holder usually being slidable relative to the die holder on two or more leader or guide pins secured to the die holder. The punch and die holders, as well as the particular set of punch and die members to be installed therein, must be machined to provide accurately located mounting holes for fasteners, such as bolts, and openings for dowel pins. Also, mounting holes for attaching stripper means are usually provided in the punch holder, and usually an opening is provided in the die holder for the discharge of blanked pieces. Obviously, such punching apparatus is costly to make, it requiring relatively long and tedious shop operations by skilled labor to properly attach the punch and die members in the die set so that they Will be maintained in accurate aligned relation with each other for proper operation. Since such a die set must be machined for a specific set of punch and die members its reuse with different punches and dies of different conligurations is greatly limited; often a conventional die set is used only with a given set of punch and die members. While the tool cost per part made by conventional punching apparatus may not be too high where a very large quantity of parts is produced thereby, the tool cost per part may be exceedingly high where only a limited number of parts is produced.
Various other types of die sets have been proposed, however, they have not been entirely satisfactory for one reason or another. For example, While one such die set may be adapted to accommodate a variety of different sets of punch and die members, the installation of the punch and die members nevertheless requires relatively long and tedious shop operations by skilled labor to properly locate mounting and dowel openings in the members in order that they be accurately located in the die set. Some such die sets are only adapted for use with punch and die members capable of punching r blanking relatively few parts before the punch and die members have to be replaced. Other die sets provide unreliable mounting means such that the punch die members are subject to shifting during blanking operations. In some cases such a diet set will accommodate only a very limited number of different punch and die members due to the special mounting means provided by the die set.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved punching apparatus which eliminates or overcomes to a large degree the abovementioned disadvantages.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a die set which is especially economical to use and reliable in operation.
Another object is to provide a die set wherein successive sets of punch and die members may be quickly and easily installed therein.
Another object is to provide a die set having preformed punch and die holders provided with simple and reliable mounting means whereby successive sets of quality punch and die members can be easily installed in accurate alignment in the die set and easily removed therefrom.l
Another object is to provide an improved die set capable of successively accommodating different sets of punch and die members, within the size range of the die set, without requiring machine operations, such as drilling, on the punch and die holders of the set during the installation of a set of punch and die members, and wherein the punch and die members can be installed especially easily and quickly therein in accurate alignment with each other.
Another object is to provide an improved die set which can be repeatedly used with different sets of quality punch and die members wherein dowel pins can be used to reliably maintain the punch and die members in alignment in the die set without drilling or machining any part of the die set itself during the installation of the members, whereby the life of the die set is greatly prolonged. These and other objects and advantages of the present mvention will be apparent from the following detailed description and accompanying drawings wherein like numerals refer to like parts where ever they occur.

Referring now to the drawings and particularly to FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, there is shown a die set including a punch or male die holder 1t) slidable toward and away from a female die holder 12 on four leader or guide pins 14, each at a corner of the die set. The guide pins 14 are secured at their lower ends to the die holder 12, such as by press fitting them in holes 16 provided in the die holder. The punch holder 1) is adapted to be connected to the ram of a power press (not shown) such as by securmg well known clamping means at the two short opposite sides of the punch holder. Die holder 12 is adapted t0 be secured to the bed of the power press, such as by suitable clamping means at each side thereof.
Punch holder 1d is provided with a hole at each corner thereof in which is secured a bushing 18 having an enlarged lower end and an upper nut 19 for securing the bushing within the hole. Bushings 1S provide bearing surfaces slidable on guide pins 14 whereby the punch holder is slidable relative to die holder 12 while being maintained in accurate aligned relation therewith.
The punch holder 10 is preformed with a plurality of like parallel mounting bores 29 extending vertically through the main body portion thereof. As seen in FIG. 1, the bores 2t) are arranged and distributed over the punch holder such that a suiiicient number of them will be in alignment with punch and stripper members of substantially any configuration Within the size range of the die set. Y
In the drawings, the numeral 22 represents a male die or punch member and the numeral 24 represents a complimentary stripper member which surrounds the punch member. The punch member 22 includes a punch plate 25 secured to a foundation or backing plate 26 such as by screws 2?. The stripper member 24 includes a metal stripper plate 3i) resiliently biased from the punch holder by suitable resilient means which is shown in the drawing as a pad 32 of compressible resilient material such as rubber. The pad 32 may be cut from stock material to the proper shape and cemented to the stripper plate 30.
The punch member 22 is removably secured to the underside of punch holder 16 by a plurality of fastening screws 34 in certain selected mounting bores 20, these particular bores being indicated at 20a. Threaded holes 36, which are provided in the punch member during its fabrication, are aligned with bores 20a to threadedly receive the fastening screws 34. Screws 34 may be tightened down so that the heads of the screws are in abutment with shoulders 35 provided within the bores 20a and with the punch member 22 held against the lower face of the holder 10.
The punch holder is also provided with dowel openings 38 and 38a. As seen in FIG. 2, a dowel bushing 40 is disposed in one of the openings 38 adjacent to the lo'wer end thereof. A dowel pin hole 42 is provided in the punch member 22 in aligned relation with dowel bushing 40 to permit insertion of a dowel pin 44. Another dowel bushing 46, which may be elongated or of oval shape as seen in FIG. 1, is disposed in dowel opening 38a to receive a dowel pin 48 press fitted in a dowel hole 50 provided in the punch member.
Prior to securing the punch member 22 to the punch holder 10, the lower ends of dowel pins 44 and 48 may first be press fitted in their respective holes 42 and 50. The punch member can then be moved against the punch holder 10 with the dowel pins 44 and 48 entering bushings 40 and 46. The fastening screws 34 are then tightened down to firmly secure the punch member in place. The use of dowel bushings 40 and 46 avoids the necessity of drilling dowel holes in the punch holder during the installation of a punch member.
The stripper member 24 is secured to the punch holder 10 by a plurality of fastening screws 52 disposed in certain of the mounting holes 20, these particular holes being indicated at b. As seen in FIG. 2, each fastening screw 52 extends through an opening 54 in the resilient pad 32 and is threadedly received in a threaded hole 56 provided in the stripper plate 30. The pad 32 is shown having a thickness such that the underside of the stripper plate leads or is normally in advance of the cutting edge of the punch plate 25. Thus, during a punching operation the stripper is first to engage the material to be punched, such as the sheet material indicated at 58.
The threaded mounting holes 36 and the dowel holes 42 and 50 may be located in the punch member such as with the use of the usual shop measuring instruments or by use of a template or the like having holes corresponding to those in the punch holder. The threaded mounting holes 56 in the stripper member 24 may be located in a similar manner.
The die holder 12 includes a metal die shoe 60 which is shown as including a rectangularly shaped base member 62 adapted to be secured to the bed of the press, and a solid rectangularly shaped die backing or bolster member 64 having an upper plane surface. The base and die backing portions 62 and 64 of the die shoe are shown formed integrally with each other although they may be formed separately and secured together. The base member 62 extends laterally past opposite ends of the backing member 64 to provide shoulders or flange portions 66 and 68 at opposite ends of the die shoe.
A female die member 70 which is complimentary to the punch member 22 is provided with a die opening 72 which receives the punch plate during a punching operation. The die 70 is attached at opposite ends to a pair of similar parallel die mounting or supporting members 74 and 76 which are shown in the form of elongated bars. As seen also in FIG. 4, the die mounting members 74 and 76 are provided with four guide pins 78, integrally fitted at ends of the mounting members. The guide pins 78 are scured to the members 74 and 76 such as by press fitting them in recesses 80 formed in the under side thereof. The four guide pins 78 are slidable in bushings 82 disposed in openings 84 provided in the Y face of the backing portion during a punching operation.
With this construction the die mounting members 74 and 76 are slidable relative to the die shoe 60 and are guided for vertical movement relative to the die shoe by means of guide pins 78, but are, of course, prevented from moving laterally relative thereto. Members 74 and 76 are easily removed from the die set by raising the punch holder 10 a suflicient distance from the die holder and sliding the mounting members upwardly until guide pins 78 leave bushings 82. If desired, guide pins, such as pins 7 8, may be press fitted in openings in the die shoe and complimentary bushings provided in the die mounting members.
As seen more clearly in FIG. 3, the mounting members 74 and 76 and the attached die member 70 are normally biased above the die shoe 60 by means of four resilient members shown as springs 86. The springs 86 are disposed in recesses 88 in the flange portions 66 and 68. The upper ends of the four springs 86 engage the under sides of the die mounting members and resiliently urge them upwardly in spaced relation with the die shoe 6i). This provides a space 89 between the die 70 and the die backing member 64 when the punch is raised after a punching operation and thus permits easy removal of the blanked out piece from the die set.
The die member 70 is secured to the slidable die mounting members 74 and 76 by fastening elements shown as bolts 90. The bolts 90 extend through oversize mounting holes 92 provided in the die member, the bolts 90 being received by certain of a plurality of threaded mounting holes 94 provided in the die mounting members. lIn the embodiment illustrated, four bolts 90, one at each corner of the die member 70, secure the die member to the die mounting members. A plurality of threaded holes 94 are preformed in each of the members 74 and 76 so that a die member of substantially any configuration and size, within the size range of the die set, may be removably secured thereto; the particular threaded mounting holes to be used depend upon the size and configuration of the particular die member.
The mounting holes 92 are formed in the die member 70 during its fabrication such that each will be in substantial alignment with one of the threaded mounting holes 94 in one of the die mounting members and so that the die member will be in approximate alignment with the punch 22. However, the oversize holes 92 may be located by ordinary shop measuring instruments, their location not being of a critical nature, as will be apparent from the following discussion.
Each of the die mounting members 74 and 76 is also provided with a centrally located through opening 95 in which is disposed a dowel bushing 96 that may be secured in the opening by press iitting it therein. Thus, where dowel pins are used, openings 98 are provided at opposite ends of the die member, and a dowel pin, such as indicated at 99, placed with portions thereof in each bushing 96 and associated opening`98.
With the die set of the present invention, punch and die members are quickly and easily installed therein in accurate aligned relation with each other. For example, the punch member 22 is rst secured to the punch holder 10 such as in the manner previously described herein. Then, preferably prior to the installation of the stripper member 24, the die member 70 is loosely attached to the die mounting members 74 and 76, by means of the fastening bolts 90. The die member is loosely attached to the members by inserting bolts 90 in the threaded openings 94 but not fully tightening them down so that the die member 70 is movable laterally or in a horizontal plane with respect to the die mounting members due to the loose fit of the bolts 90 in the oversize holes 92. This loose attachment of the die member to the mounting members may be performed within the die set or with the supporting members 74 and 76 removed from the die set.
With the die member 70 loosely attached to the mounting members and the guide pins 78 in their respective bushings 82 in the die set, the punch holder 10 is lowered toward the die holder 12, for example, manually and under control of the operator. The punch holder is lowered to a position such that the die member 70 and mounting members 74 and 76 can be raised above the die shoe toward the punch member, and the die member adjusted or moved in a lateral or horizontal plane relative to the members 74 and 76 until the cutting edge of the punch 25 enters the die opening 72. The die member 70 is adjusted or positioned so that the slight space between the cutting edge of the punch and inneredge of the die is substantially constant around the punch so that they are in accurate aligned relation with each other and then the bolts are fully tightened. 'Since the die member 70 is slidable toward and away from the die shoe 60, as well as being laterally movable, the critical alignment of the die member 70 with the punch member 22 is facilitated.
Dowel pins which are usually used as a precaution against any movement or shifting of the die member punching operations are easily installed with the die set of the present invention. For example, with the die member 70 secured to the mounting members 74 and 76 and accurately aligned with the punch member 22, as described hereinbefore, the die member and attached mounting members are removed from the die set. This may be done simply by raising the punch holder suiciently to permit the raising of the mounting members 74 and 76 and attached die member 70 until guide pins 78 leave their bushings 82. The die and attached supporting members can be turnedover or inverted, as shown in FIG. 4, and moved to a drill press where a drill is inserted through each bushing 96 and the holesV 98 drilled in the die member. Then the dowell pins 99 are inserted so that they each extend into hole 98 and associated bushing 96 at each end of the die holder. The holes 98 are, of course, made undersize or small enough so that the dowel pins 99 tightly lit therein. The die member and attached mounting members may then be returned to the die set which will then be ready for performing punching operation. By providing bushings 96 in the die mounting members the necessity of drilling dowel openings in the mounting members during the installation of a die member is avoided.
In operation, the sheet metal 58 (FIG. 2) to be punched is placed between the die member 70 and punch 25. As the punch holder is lowered on guide pins 14 by the press, the stripper engages the sheet metal urging it and the die member 70 and mounting members 74 and 76 downwardly compressing the four springs 86 until the die member is againstthe die'backing portion 64 of the die shoe. The punch plate then cuts through the sheet metal 58 and enters the die opening 7 2. The part punched from the sheet metal falls through the die opening 72 and lands on the solid die backing portion 64 of the die shoe. As the punch holder 10 is raised by the press, the die member is again raised above the die shoe by springs S46 thus permitting easy removal of the part punched out. The part punched out is removed from the die set by any suitable means, for example, where the die set is used in an inclinable press, the part may simply be removed by gravity. The die set is then ready for the next punching operation.
The punch member 22 and die member 70 are easily removed from the die set, The punch member 22 may be removed by removing fastening screws 34 and dowel pins 44 and 48. The die member 70 is removed by removing bolts 90 and dowel pins 99.
` In FIGS. 5 and 6 there is shown a die holder, indicated at 100, of modified construction. The die holder 101i includes a pair of similar slidable die mounting members 102 (one shown) at opposite sides thereof to which is secured a female die member 104. As seen in FIG. 5, bolts 106 at the corners of the die member pass through oversize mounting holes 108 in the die member and are received in certain of a plurality of threaded holes 114D provided in each of the die mounting members. A dowel pin 112, shown in phantom, is disposed between the die member and each of the mounting members to prevent any lateral movement of the die member during punching operations. A dowel bushing 113 is provided in each of the mounting members to receive the dowel pin. v
The die mounting members 102, in this construction, are slidable on guide pins 114 toward and away from the die shoe which is indicated generally at 115. The guide pins 114 in this construction also guide the punch holder of the die set shown in phantom at 117 for movement relative to the die holder. As shown, the guide pins 114 are secured to the die shoe 115 such as by press iitting them in holes 116 in the die shoe and extend upwardly into bushings 119 in the punch holder. Each of the members 162 is provided with bushings 118 fixed adjacent each end thereof in openings 120, the bushings 11S being slidable on the guide pins 114. The die shoe 115 is provided with a pair of springs 122 disposed in recesses 124 at each of two opposite ends of the die shoe. The springs 122 normally resiliently urge the die mounting members 162 and attached die member 104 upwardly in spaced relation with the die shoe.
. As' seen in FIG. 6, the die shoe 115 is provided with a die backing portion 127 having an upper plane surface and a flange portion 128 at each side of the portion 127. The die mounting members 102 are disposed above the flanges and extend along opposite sides of the die backing portion so that the attached die member 104 is disposed between the punch and the die backing portion of the die shoe.
Y The die member 104 in FIGS. 5 and 6 can be secured to the mounting members and aligned with the punch member in a manner similar to that previously described herein in regard to the embodiment shown in FIGS. l-4. The die member 194 is first loosely attached to the mounting members 102 by inserting bolts 106 through oversize holes 108 and threaded holes 110 without fully tightening them down. Then, with the punch close to the die member, the mounting members 102 can be moved vertically on the guide pins 114 and the die member moved laterally until it is in alignment with the punch. The bolts 106 may then be fully tightened.
The die supporting members 102 and attached die member 104 may be readily removed from the die set, for the purpose of drilling dowel openings in the die member 104 and inserting the dowel pins 112, by irst raising the punch holder off of the guide pins 114 and then sliding the die supporting members upwardly and off of the guide pins.
Sheet material to be punched, as indicated at 126, is disposed between the punch and die members. Upon the closing of the die set by the press the stripper member attached to the punch holder will engage sheet material 126 and move the die member 194 against the upper surface of the die backing portion 127. The punch will then cut through the sheet material with the part punched out falling through the die opening and landing on the upper surface of the die backing portion. The springs 122, upon the opening of the die set, urge the die mounting members 102 and the attached die member 1l4 upwardly away from the die backing portion 128 to permit easy removal of the punched out part.
The use of slidable die mounting members in the hereinbefore described punching apparatus facilitates the alignment of the punch and die members because the die member is not only movable laterally due to the oversize mounting holes therein, but the die member is movable vertically or toward and away from the punch member. Because the die mounting members and the attached die member can be easily removed from and returned to the die set without affecting the alignment of the punch and die members, it is a simple matter to ernploy dowel pins to insure positive alignment of the members during punching operations. Also with dowel bushings in the mounting members dowel pins can be used without alteration of the mounting members. The critical alignment of the punch and die members may be conveniently made after the punch and die holders are secured in the power press and just the die member and mounting members need be removed for the purpose of inserting dowel pins.
Simple punch and die members of substantially any conguration can be used in the illustrated embodiments, it being a simple matter of placing the fastening elements in the required locations in the punch holder and die mounting members to suit the various sizes and configurations. The same fastening elements may be repeatedly used for different sets of punches and dies. Also, since an opening or cut out is not required in the die backing part of the die shoe relatively thin economical die members may be used and still be well supported.
It will be apparent that different successive sets of punch and die members, as well as associated stripper members, can be readily installed in the punching apparatus described herein, and without alteration of the parts of the die set when installing the punch and die members in the apparatus. In this way, the life of the die set is greatly increased and one such die set may be used with substantially an unlimited number of different sets of punch and die members to thus realize substantial savings. With the use of punching apparatus made in accordance with the present invention, the tool cost per part produced can be substantially reduced, this being especially important where only a limited number of parts are to be produced by each different set of punch and die members. Also storage space is reduced since it is only necessary to store the punch die members instead of a complete die set for each set of punch and die members.
While a single punch 25 is shown in the illustrated embodiments, it will be apparent that a plurality of punches may be installed together for simultaneous operation. In such case, for example, the female die member will be provided with openings complimentary to the punches. Also, one or more strippers may be used with the punches.
It is to be understood that the foregoing description and accompanying drawings have been given only by way of illustration and example, and that alterations and changes in the present disclosure, which will be readily apparent to one skilled in the art, are contemplated as within the scope of the present invention, which is limited only by the claims which follow:
What is claimed is:
1. A punching apparatus comprising a punch holder adapted to have a punch member secured thereto, and a die holder adapted to have a die member complimentary to said punch member mounted thereon in aligned relation with said punch member, said punch holder being guided for movement toward and away from said die holder for punching operations, said die holder including a die shoe, a pair of spaced elongated movable die mounting members mounted on said die shoe, each of said mounting members having its lengthwise dimension along an axis parallel to the plane of said die shoe, at least one of said mounting members having an opening therethrough for receiving a dowel pin, slidable guide means rigidly connected to each of said mounting members, stationary guide means on said die shoe and guiding said slidable guide means for movement relative thereto to elect guided movement of said mounting members when said mounting members are moved toward and away from said die shoe, and means for rigidly securing said die member to said mounting members in aligned relation with said punch member including threaded fastening means securing opposite ends of said die member respectively to said mounting members, said slidable guide means being slidable out of engagement with said stationary guide means in response to movement of said mounting members away from said die shoe a predetermined distance to permit removal of said mounting members from said die shoe without affecting the position of the die member relative to said mounting members for forming a dowel hole in said die member in aligned relation with said opening and the insertion of a dowel pin into said hole and said opening.
2. A punching apparatus comprising a punch holder adapted to have a punch member secured thereto, and a die holder adapted to have a die member complimentary to said punch member mounted thereon in aligned relation with said punch member, said punch holder being guided for movement toward and away from said die holder during a punching operation, said die holder including a die shoe, a pair of spaced elongated movable die mounting members each having its lengthwise dimension along an axis parallel to the plane of said die shoe, at least one of said mounting members having an opening for receiving a dowel pin, means for mounting said mounting members to said die shoe for guided movement toward and away from said die shoe including stationary guide means on said die shoe, and slidable guide means rigidly secured to each of said mounting members, said slidable guide means slidably engaging said stationary guide means to effect guided movement of said mounting members toward and away from said die shoe, and means for rigidly securing said die member to said mounting members in aligned relation with said punch member including threaded fastening means connecting opposite ends of said die member to said mounting members, said threaded fastening means permitting limited lateral movement of said die member for aligning said die member with said punch member before said fastening means are tightened down and rigidly securing said die member to said mounting members in xed relation therewith and in aligned relation with said punch member when tightened down, said slidable guide means being slidable out of engagement with said stationary guide means when said mounting members are moved away from said die shoe a predetermened distance to effect removal of said mounting members with said die member secured thereto from said die shoe for forming a hole in said die member in aligned relation with said opening in said one mounting member and the insertion of a dowel pin into said opening and said hole, said mounting members with the die member secured thereto being returnable to said shoe with said die member in aligned relation with said punch.

A punching apparatus comprising a punch holder, a punch secured to said punch holder, a die holder, a die having mounting openings therein and adapted for connection to said die holder in aligned relation with said punch, means connected between said punch holder and said die holder for guiding said punch holder for movement toward and away from said die holder, said die holder including a die shoe, a pair of spaced elongated movable die mounting members each having its lengthwise dimension along an axis parallel to the plane of said die shoe, at least one of said mounting members having at least one opening therethrough and a dowel bushing in the opening for receiving a dowel pin, means for mounting said mounting members to said die shoe for guided movement toward and away from said die shoe guide means to effect guided movement of said mounting members relative to said die shoe, and means for securing said die t0 said mounting members in aligned relation to said punch including threaded fastening means in each of said mounting members and each extending through a different one of said mounting openings of said die to rigidly secure saidrdie to said mounting members when tightened down, said mounting openings being relatively large compared to said fastening means to permit limited lateral movement of said die for aligning said die With said punch before said fastening means are tightened down, said slidable guide means being slidable out of engagement with said stationary guide means when said mounting members are moved a predetermined distance away from said die shoe to effect removal of said mounting members with said die secured thereto from said die shoe for drilling a hole in said die in aligned relation with 10 said bushing for insertion of a dowel pin in said bushing and said hole.

Claims (1)

1. A PUNCHING APPARATUS COMPRISING A PUNCH HOLDER ADAPTED TO HAVE A PUNCH MEMBER SECURED THERETO, AND A DIE HOLDER ADAPTED TO HAVE A DIE MEMBER COMPLIMENTARY TO SAID PUNCH MEMBER MOUNTED THEREON IN ALIGNED RELATION WITH SAID PUNCH MEMBER, SAID PUNCH HOLDER BEING GUIDED FOR MOVEMENT TOWARD AND AWAY FROM SAID DIE HOLDER FOR PUNCHING OPERATIONS, SAID DIE HOLDER INCLUDING A DIE SHOE, A PAIR OF SPACED ELONGATED MOVABLE DIE MOUNTING MEMBERS MOUNTED ON SAID DIE SHOE, EACH OF SAID MOUNTING MEMBERS HAVING ITS LENGTHWISE DIMENSION ALONG AN AXIS PARALLEL TO THE PLANE OF SAID DIE SHOE, AT LEAST ONE OF SAID MOUNTING MEMBERS HAVING AN OPENING THERETHROUGH FOR RECEIVING A DOWEL PIN, SLIDABLE GUIDE MEANS RIGIDLY CONNECTED TO EACH OF SAID MOUNTING MEMBERS, STATIONARY GUIDE MEANS ON SAID DIE SHOE AND GUIDING SAID SLIDABLE GUIDE MEANS FOR MOVEMENT RELATIVE THERETO TO EFFECT GUIDED MOVEMENT OF SAID MOUNTING MEMBERS WHEN SAID MOUNTING MEMBERS ARE MOVED TO-
